Something new to share ๐ฃ
On the first day of the month, Iโll share actionable tips to help you build your social media presence across 3 key platforms.
๐ On LinkedIn, you want to create USEFUL content for your potential clients/customers.
LinkedIn recently updated its algorithm. It shows recent posts from your connections and content you enjoy; LinkedIn wants to show your followers/connections content theyโre interested in regardless of when that content was created. So, your best content could reach new users for months, as LinkedIn will show your content as a โsuggestedโ post.
๐ TikTokโs current trend is putting optimistic spins on relatable everyday situations. This allows users to visualise themselves in those situations. The key elements of these trends are:
๐ฅ To create a narrative with a sense of delusion.
๐ฅ Using trending hashtags that are aligned with your brand.
๐ฅ Adding relevant music.
๐ฅ Either sharing carousels or videos that encourage conversations.
๐ Instagram has shared its high-performing content for 2024, which is to use storytelling to create a deeper connection with your target audience. To do this, try to:
๐ฅ Show your business as the โheroโ that beats all challenges.
๐ฅ Tell a story about transformation or triumph.
๐ฅ Share light-hearted content that humanises your brand. It helps build your community and makes your brand more approachable.
Combining having meaningful conversations and the above 3 actionable points will help you build your social media presence to stay front of mind for target audiences is essential. How will you use these 3 tips in your content strategy?
Well, this is a new way of sharing content!
Instagram is testing the option for you to create Stories and share these with friends via message. The idea is that they can view it and then add it to their own Story.
I think this is a great idea! It's another great way for you to share content with those you've marked as friends.
Is this relevant for businesses? YES!! If you've added people/accounts to your "Close friends" list, you can send them your Stories.
I've not got this feature yet. Have you seen it? How would you use it?

PPS: Remember Instagram tests features on some accounts and then rolls them out slowly to everyone.
Getting started again on social media after a break is tricky for some...
But you're not alone!
It can also be for me, especially after Christmas and New Year's. I've spoken to a few business owners who lack the enthusiasm to start posting again after their break.
What's the best way to get started again?
Think about sharing these simple content ideas:
๐ An introduction: who are you, what do you do, and how can you help your clients in 2024?
๐ A client testimonial
๐ Give someone else a spotlight on your feed. It could be someone you know, a local business, or someone you've worked with.
๐ A behind-the-scenes photo or video
๐ Your favourite top tools, platforms or resources that you use daily/saves you time/money/energy
Has it been natural for you to get going again on social? Did you even stop? What motivated you to get started again?

Does Instagram ever stop ๐ง
Instagram has introduced new Stories stickers ahead of the holiday season. These are:
๐ The App sticker allows your followers to view another linked app. You could use this to promote your products or services.
๐ The Secret sticker lets people only see this if they respond to the Story with a message.
๐ The Music Pick sticker lets you share your favourite music on Stories.
Youโll notice that these new stickers are all designed to be shared with a small group of friends rather than public sharing.
Have you got any of these new features yet?
PS: donโt worry if you donโt have it yet. Instagram rolls out these features slowly to everyone. I donโt have these yet.
PPS: Screenshots are from app researcher Alessandro Paluzzi
My lovely Insta family, it's my birthday ๐ ๐
So I'm pressing pause today on work and (technically) social media, which can sometimes be tricky when you're self-employed. Work doesn't stand still, but I've decided to give myself the ultimate gift: a day to unwind, reflect and enjoy the sunshine โ๏ธ
Last year was the big one, so this year is more low-key. But I'm grateful to be able to take the day off!
It's also National Prosecco Day on Saturday, so I will no doubt celebrate with some bubbles ๐ฅ
Hope you have a lovely sunny day! โ๏ธ
