The thing that pleases us most, is going back to the same client to do more work. The last two weeks have been focused on a based client. Do it once, do it right.

With hybrid working here to stay, workplace design trends are changing.

Working from home suits some, but we are seeing more employers looking to capitalise on what the workplace offers that home offices do not—emphasising social time with coworkers, for instance.

We are encouraging employers to think about creating a diverse variety of workspaces to mirror the productivity found in moving from room to room in one’s own home for different tasks or times of day or to give employees the chance to routinely interact with their colleagues.

Promoting choice-based work and socialising with peers helps employees feel connected to their organisation and revive the sense of community and ultimately increased productivity.

Only two more sleeps until the shortest day of the year, the day when we will have the least hours of daylight!

You'd be forgiven for thinking it was today, as it's been a wall of grey since I opened my eyes this morning.

Grey days can make us feel weary and sluggish, so here's a few tips to brightening up the workplace, so every day feels like a bright day;

1. Use great lighting - the use of correct lighting can bring great energy any space. Whether it be warm, cool or atmospheric lighting.
2. Glass walls or doors to enhance natural light.
3. Light or contrast wall colours
4. Maximise the use of bright furnishings
5. Use plants to create the feeling of being outdoors

A little bit of uplifting background music also helps also helps banish the 'grey day' grumps!

As we approach the end of the year, we are speaking with clients who are drawing up plans and budgets for projects in 2023.

We have some exciting new lined up for next year and have re-assured other potential clients who are concerned about the ever- increasing costs of products, services and materials, that the cost of a fit out doesn't have to be covered in one full swoop.

Our client in the sector was delighted with the result.

FIRST IMPRESSIONS = LASTING IMPRESSIONS

When clients and visitors approach your area - how do you want them to feel?

Of course, the answer should be welcomed, informed, comfortable and inspired!

But we've all been there haven't we? We have entered the doors of an organisation and have wondered if we are in the right place, or, knowing we are in the right place, we do not feel welcomed, informed, comfortable or inspired!!

The reception area is, in essence:
✔the office equivalent of the initial introduction to your organisation
✔it's the first handshake
✔the first and lasting impression.

Presenting your organisation in a strong way is incredibly important, as this experience tells the visitor what they can expect from your organisation - your standards, services and ethics from the moment they step foot through your doors. It also demonstrates the value you put on them.

Adding a social element with refreshments creates added value and cements that first impressions.

Executing the is another matter altogether and that is where we at Mx2 Interiors come in.

We work with our clients by creating a that works with the space - and if the space doesn't quite work, we will work on a solution to create the space.

Incorporating a variety of textures with , , , , , and are all factors that combine in creating that first and lasting impression!

This is exactly the remit we worked to when designing the reception areas for a client with multiple sites across the UK.

The client was delighted when the previously dated and drab area was transformed into a modern, functional and social environment!

The projects are now completed and the gaming students (not pictured) are well and truly ensconced in their chairs and focused on the consoles in front of them. An education a world apart from my student days!! 😃🕹🎮

They all seem to like the new environment and I am pretty chuffed with the outcome too!

The projects are nearing completion and it has been both challenging and fulfilling in equal measure.

We now move on to new conversations and new projects.

Recently we have had enquiries from and subsequent conversations with Golf Clubs.

The old style club houses are changing, making way for innovate design and better use of space.

By their very nature clubhouses are set in beautiful grounds, with a lots of light and are very spacious. But in so many cases, they are DATED and UNDER USED.

Opportunities are being missed to maximise revenue whilst at the same time creating an incredible guest experience - whether it be members, local business or the community.

I am looking forward to exploring new ideas and creating a space that truly welcomes everyone who enters it.

FROM THE LIGHT INTO THE DARK

The project in Guildford is coming along nicely as we begin to install the lighting and then darken the room with black ceilings and walls - creating the perfect environment for the students who will be using this space to further their e-sports education!
