Looking forward to our next gig on Saturday 16th December at the Harbour View House @harbourviewstives. We'll be kicking off from 8pm with some special guests! Here's a clip of us playing 'Rosebud' at the beautiful venue. A true story of the resistance of Cornish fishermen against the demolition of local homes. #livemusic #stives #stivescornwall #songwriter #firstnotsecondhomes

We've been collaborating with Launceston World Music Group and have just made this film about some of the fun and games they got up to after hearing our song These Shoes. Please see our Justgiving post below for more information about this brilliant project - and its exciting links with a community in South Africa. https://www.justgiving.com/crowdfunding/schoolshoesfornatal

Estamos pensando em vocês 🇬🇧🇧🇷 A musical message of friendship and hope from children at St.Catherine's School, Launceston, UK to children in Bahia, NE Brazil, who have been suffering from the impacts of devastating floods attributed to the climate crisis. #ClimateEmergency #climatecrisis #solidarity #messageofhope #brazil #bahia #cornwall

We helped some pupils from Windmill Hill Academy (Launceston) create a musical message of friendship and hope to children in Bangladesh after they learned about some of the challenges Bengali children are facing on account of the climate crisis. #climatecrisis #climatechange #ClimateEmergency #Bangladesh #messageofhope #solidarity

অনেক শুভ কামনা Anēka śubha kāmanā We're working with partners in several schools to send musical messages of hope and solidarity to our friends around the world. Here are some Cornish primary school pupils sending a message to our friends in Bangladesh. They have been learning all about the country and its people, including learning a few Bengali phrases, a song and writing some words using the beautiful Bangla alphabet. অনেক শুভ কামনা #messagesofhope #solidarity

Wild Experiment
With the COP26 UNclimatesummit.org fast approaching, we thought we'd post this film we made during Lockdown 2020. Mother Earth's plea to mankind - and all that jazz. Check out https://www.greenwash.earth/ to find out more about what oil companies, banks and governments aren't doing about the crisis... ps You might recognise the incredible dancer if you've seen this year's St Just Ordinalia (it's a cross he has to bear ; ). If you haven't seen it - there's still time!, it's amazing! Sylvie Nicol's singing is getting more and more noticed all the time - this week by BBC Music Introducing. No surprises there. The St Just Ordinalia runs until 18th Sept: https://www.hallforcornwall.co.uk/playhouse-tickets-shows/st-just-ordinalia-2021/about-the-show Sylvie will be appearing with Tim Neville at St.Ives Parish Church on 23rd Sept: http://www.crbo.co.uk/eventDetail.php?evGrp=195&evId=19670

Rosebud
We hope you enjoy our re-telling of the Rosebud's epic voyage from Newlyn to the Houses of Parliament in 1937. Every bit as relevant now as it was then... Dedicated to the people of Newlyn by our family, who owned the Rosebud (aka Cynthia Yvonne) later in her life. Please see our website www.globaljamming.org/rosebud for more details, including full Cornish and English subtitles (for Cornish, select....Breton : )

https://www.justgiving.com/fundraisin... We made this short film after spending a few weeks with Collective Aid in 2020, working with refugees in Calais and Dunkirk, France. The song came about from listening to people on the ground during this time and gaining a small insight into the realities and challenges they face. It is dedicated to the work of CA (https://www.collectiveaidngo.org/) and other organisations working tirelessly to provide support - in Northern France and around in the world. To contribute to Collective Aid's vital work, please consider making a donation via: https://www.justgiving.com/fundraisin... and/or getting involved via: https://www.collectiveaidngo.org/ways... Brief appearance on BBC Spotlight about our shanty! #nogoingback #G7Summit #seashanty #samba #stives #cornwall

St.Ives G7 Shanty-Samba
Ahoy there - we're creating a shanty to reach out from our St.Ives community to the G7 leaders when they land here in June and we need your help! We'll be singing and drumming the shanty at various events between now and the end of the summit. The idea is to get fired up, get heard and get doing something about the issues we think are important - from the local to the global. We'd love members of the St.Ives community to contribute and become part of the shanty's message to the world leaders. Please check out our demo video for a taster of the shanty so far. If you want to get involved... Listen to the female vocal on the video and, copying the rhythm of any two of her rhyming lines, change the words to ones of your own - putting across something you think G7 really needs to hear. Eg - replace: "In St.Ives here's your mission, To change your tune and listen!" Or, in the second section: "This world is everyone's concern, So take the lead or feel the burn!" Sing your lines along with the recording to check that they fit and rhyme well. When you're happy with them, please send your lines to us at [email protected] Keep an eye on our website www.globaljamming.org as we update it with the contributions we receive. If writing G7 shanty lines isn't your thing - please come and add your voices - we'll be giving details on upcoming G7 Shanty sessions via this page. www.globaljamming.org [email protected] #nogoingback #g7 #g7worldsummit #stives #cornwall #g7carbisbay #nogoingbacksundays #anotherworldispossible #seashanty #samba #2021
