What a lovely warm sunny friendly evening we had with delicious potluck supper and lots of swapping of plants and seeds. Treated to great music from Global Jamming and Leila Noverraz and a beautiful foraging walk led by Gabby and Summer, who at age 8 has incredible knowledge of plants. Thank you to everyone who attended, we really enjoyed connecting through plants and thx to Jo Riley for organising the plant socisl. Happy growing.
We've been collaborating with Launceston World Music Group and have just made this film about some of the fun and games they got up to after hearing our song These Shoes.

A musical message of friendship and hope from children at St.Catherine's School, Launceston, UK to children in Bahia, NE Brazil, who have been suffering from the impacts of devastating floods attributed to the climate crisis.
We helped some pupils from Windmill Hill Academy (Launceston) create a musical message of friendship and hope to children in Bangladesh after they learned about some of the challenges Bengali children are facing on account of the climate crisis.

We're working with partners in several schools to send musical messages of hope and solidarity to our friends around the world.
Here are some Cornish primary school pupils sending a message to our friends in Bangladesh.
They have been learning all about the country and its people, including learning a few Bengali phrases, a song and writing some words using the beautiful Bangla alphabet.

Check out what some Cornish primary school children came up with when they re-wrote our G7 community shanty for the world leaders at the COP26 conference.
So inspiring to work with tomorrow's would-be global guardians... let's hope they get the chance to make a better job of it than we're doing.

Our Story
Global Jamming St.Ives is the next chapter of Penwith Jamming.
We are musicians who run musical events. Our aims are to have fun, bring people together and to support social and environmental causes/campaigns that we identify with.
We started out running free performance events for young musicians in our home area, including the ten Island Jams, marquees at Ayr Field Day and St.Ives Alive, a bunch of Acoustic Jams at local libraries and the like.
More recently we’ve been running drumming circles, acoustic music evenings and we’re involved in local samba drumming.
Our main focus at present is to work with musicians via our fb and Instagram pages to raise awareness and money to support Collective Aid, an NGO providing essential services to displaced people in Europe.
Keep in touch via this page if you'd like to be involved in some way - or to involve us in something you’re doing.
