The Refract Festival hits Waterside Plaza this afternoon with 'Street Games' - inclusive and accessible fun featuring games, live music and dance with BSL performance and interpretation

The Refract Festival returns this week from Tuesday 23 – Sunday 28 July

There are also loads of free family activities happening on the Plaza between Thu 25 – Sun 28 July including:

Street Games - inclusive and accessible fun featuring street games, live music and dance with BSL performance and interpretation

Brimstone The Dragon – a six-metre long Giant Dragon puppet, brought to life by four highly skilled puppeteers to tell the magical and adventurous story of Brimstone

The Old Time Rags Travelling Show - a family friendly interactive live music and dance show

The Running Showers - interactive walkabout performances -splashing through the streets, with shower caps and rubber ducks!

Unboxed - an explosive dance work on two giant wooden cubes

The Bandstand – featuring free music performances from a singer songwriter Zoe Kyoti, a jazz clarinettist Arun Ghosh and electronic music combined with live instruments from Psychederek

Over 3,700 people attended the fabulous & fun Family Block Party and of course the 🌞 had its hat on...or was it a stetson? 🤠 💋 🤣

And a huge thank you to Darren and his team for putting on a 4-day programme of + performance to promote & celebrate expressionism & individuality...

..and thank you to all the stall holders and contributors, especially our charity partner .....and finally 👉 YOU for making it a hugely interactive and INCLUSIVE day... a PROUD TRAFFORD 🌈 👏 🙌

Join us at the 'Family Block Party' today from 12-4pm Plaza

This is a free to attend event with lots of LGBTQIA+ info stalls, children's entertainment and a catwalk extravaganza from Ghetto Fabulous - watch as 4 dancers go head to head in an interactive dance, fashion & lip-sync competition 🎶💃 [12.30pm & 3pm]

15 minutes before each performance there will be an opportunity for audience participation to learn some fabulous moves & strut your stuff 😀

Curious Arts will be taking over Sale Library throughout the day with their Mini Pride for the young ones & are bringing their own kid's zone with lots of fun stuff including Pride Mickey & Minnie Mouse 🐭

We'll be outside with our Pop-Up Gelato & Pizza and fundraising with our Face Painting & Balloon Artist stalls 🍕 🤡🤩

We will be fundraising at the Family Block Party tomorrow (12-4pm) at Waterside Plaza, with our face painting and balloon artist 🥳
