Following on from my workshop announcement video here’s the info from Green and Grounded regarding their Christmas wreath workshops 🖤

It is certainly too early for Mariah screaming, yet it is not too early to secure your spot for this year’s Christmas Wreath Workshop.

As you may be aware, we enjoy changing venues and collaborating with our industry pals, and this year is no different. We are excited to partner with Manchester’s finest brunch and bistro, .co, and will be hosting events in both Altrincham and Sale.

Join us for an enjoyable evening where you will create a luxurious, handmade door wreath. Throughout the session, you will craft a stunning, aromatic door wreath and acquire the skills necessary to replicate your creation repeatedly.

Employing sustainable techniques with a reusable base, along with exquisite festive foliage, berries, seed heads, and ribbon embellishments, we will guide you through a step-by-step masterclass to design an impactful, wild, and Green and Grounded signature-style Christmas wreath for your front door.

This event is ideal for anyone, whether you are attending alone, as a couple, or as part of a larger group. There is no need to bring anything, as all materials and instruction will be provided. Additionally, you will receive a complimentary festive drink or glass of sparkling wine upon arrival.

What a fantastic day today was well done to Sarah & Mike for another successful event, you smashed it. I have loved every minute! Thanks to everyone who came along and supported all our small businesses and the event. We all really do appreciate it and thank you for giving homes to lots of Black Raven pieces.

So many fabulous traders to mention (i will do a separate post on this) but you are all awesome 🖤 and a special thanks to Emma & Rich .shortland who always makes me laugh (i loved the effort you went to with the tails, highlight of my day!)

I have just finished a crazy week after getting back from Whitby Goth Weekend, back to my other job, catching up with admin and making gorgeous new things for tomorrow’s as well as planning my new studio (more exciting info coming soon!)

I can’t wait to see everyone tomorrow, it’s a great market and Sarah works so hard to make it such an inclusive, enjoyable, friendly event for everyone. What can I say other than Wow..what a weekend For the Spring Whitby Goth weekend! Raychel did an amazing job making the market and events run like clockwork. The whole weekwnd was a real success 🖤

Well here I am..back to posting on socials. I needed to take a break after the most hectic end to 2023! Thank you for all your support over what was my best Black Raven year yet, it truly does mean the world.

I mat not have been posting but i have definitely been planning. This year is all about embracing what I love about the business and evolving, there may be a few changes to how I do things but I really do believe that 2024 is going to be wild here at Black Raven and i’m excited about the ride.

What can I say about these two , from the moment I met them I knew we’d have a blast and that they were totally awesome. From designing to creating they put their complete trust in me and it was such an ace experience. Both Sophie & Darren have a creative flair (which i’ve seen in my wreath workshops and in their beautiful home) and they thought about every detail for their big day. Using an autumnal pallet with a pop of light the florals captured their elegant, gothic side with a sprinkle of halloween fun. Sophies bouquet included my home grown dried astilbe, tonnes of foliages, amaranthus, dried burnt orange roses, hydrangea, bunny tails, pampas, scabious seed heads and leaves…lots of leaves. Finished with trailing ribbons and the most beautiful memento tied to the handle to remember a special loved one.

Darrens shotgun case buttonhole was presented to him in a Black Raven velvet lined coffin box with my Raven and Skull wax seal.

A beautiful dried foliage door wreath with matching trailing ribbons and floral statement arrangement was used to adorn their beautiful wedding reception..their awesome home.. party central.

The cherry on the top was the surprise gift Sophie commissioned for her hubby to be..I absolutely loved making them their very own custom ghost parlour dome..the perfect spooky addition to their beautiful day.

Jane knew exactly what she wanted when we discussed florals for their Halloween wedding…muted autumnal tones was the vibe with interesting textures
Ingredients such as black bunny tails, Black Pampas grass, Crocosmia, hydrangea, scabious seed heads, eucalyptus, red roses, mini pumpkins, amaranthus and contorted hazel to name a few. Dried mini pumpkins and florals adorned the tables with the most beautiful carved wooden pumpkins by their talented friend

Jazzy their beloved dog even matched the bridal party with matching ribbons attached to their lead.

I’ll admit..i’m a little giddy…The spectacle today will be one to remember. Wether your a fan of the royals or not..the amount of talented makers that work behind the scenes on the Robes, outfits, the Crowns and ceremonial jewellery, the florals, the Carriages ect…just phenomenal workmanship. Personally i’m looking forward to watching it and appreciating the huge team of people making this historical day look phenomenal. Much of the ceremony hasn’t changed since Medieval times..I wonder how it will all translate to the modern day.

My personal collection are enjoying their special crown and looking forward to the homemade victoria sponge 🖤👻🖤

After a busy weekend trading at the very first (which was fabulous btw!) and piles of admin I am back at this morning resetting my shop. Thanks for all the orders..i’ll be cracking on with them this week.

This week is a bit of a manic one so please bear with me.

The past few months there has been a flurry of enquiries for wedding florals..mostly for October (our favourite month) and my diary if nearly full…eekk!

I am absolutely loving how my awesome customers are really expressing themselves with their floral designs, outfits, hair, makeup venues, jewellery and decor and I can’t wait to see all the details come together. It is so important to do things your way and it fills me with such happiness that the wedding world is changing and becoming a more expressive, inclusive world 👏

This weekend was just mega..it’s hard to know where to start! Saturday was spent trading at the awesome with and what a day it was. You all came out and supported so many of us small alternative independent business and i’m sure we all did the happy dance at some point in the day..a big massive thank you to all of you that came 🖤

I’d like to say a huge thank you and a big well done to Elizabeth, Debi and Kat who worked tirelessly to make sure that it was the amazing event it was! The team absolutely smashed it!

I wish i’d got to say hello to all my other trader pals but we were all so busy I didn’t get chance but wow your stalls all looked brilliant (so glad there are plenty of vids/pics on socials) but so lovely to see and .shortland for a quick hug!

Seriously, I am so excited about this Saturday. are mad enough to have me back..this time in wonderful Leeds! The market will be rammed full of the most awesome makers and it’s being held in the fantastic which is conveniently located next to the bus station in the centre of Leeds! The Market will be in 2 zones (see map) so be sure to visit both areas and support as many small alternative businesses as you can 🖤

My stall will be full of Black Raven originals, curiosities and of course our much loved ghosts.

My commission book is closed until next week so that I can concentrate on my event makes and I also have in my shop in which is keeping me super busy. Thanks for your patience and I look forward to seeing you in Leeds!

Today is the start of ran by and my very first one!

‘It’s a chance for independent businesses to use their collective power to encourage people back to our town centres, to say thank you to customers who supported them during these testing times and to prove once again, that the small guys can compete with the online giants & the supermarkets. In fact they beat them hands down in many ways, but most of all their contribution to our local economies.’

What a great idea! There are many of us in joining in and there is a real buzz about it..go and check it out!
