Dear all,

May this email find you and yours safe and well, wherever you are.

We are excited to announce the first of our extended STEM two-hour workshops. This came out of an idea to have longer sessions periodically, offering more time to delve deeper into different aspects of BMC material.

Our first session will be co-led by Anne-Marie Zulkahari and Katy Dymoke

Saturday March 13th
10.30 - 12.30pm (replacing the usual one hour class).

We will be exploring:

‘Finding support through the five horizontal diaphragms.’

The diaphragms create a horizontal base for the organs to rest on top of, and a ceiling for the organs beneath to suspend from. The five diaphragms are the Tentorium ceribelli, vocal folds, thoracic inlet, thoracic diaphragm and the pelvic floor. We will explore the support for vertical alignment, the separate spaces within the skeletal cavities, to find internal support from the organ system and so ease and fluid movement.

The cost of these workshops is £15.00, concession rate £10.00.

The pandemic has affected us all so should your financial situation deter you from attending please email us.

After you have paid, please email us to confirm payment so that we can register you for the workshop and send you the Zoom link.

We regret that we cannot take last minute bookings for these STEM workshops.

Payments can be made via PayPal or through the Monzo account.

Information on STEM

STEM is the community of BMC® Practitioners and Teachers that graduated from or are associated with the BMC® certified program offered by Embody Move (license holder for the school for Body-Mind Centering® training programs in the UK): https://embody-move.co.uk/

The online format of our BMC® classes originates in the onset of the 'lockdown' period of the Corona Virus, as an initiative and desire to keep sharing and exploring BMC® tools for supporting ourselves and each other, for keeping embodied in daily life, as well as a means to connecting with others, creating community and getting inspired.

They also provide newcomers with an insight into the BMC® practice.

Notes:

-The online BMC® format includes several but not all aspects of BMC® practice (such as touch, hands-on exchange, and moving in couples or groups).

-Self-care is important, especially while alone in your own space. Some self-care suggestions:

follow the material at your own pace, there is no need to do everything spoken/invited by the class leader; use the chat with the co-host one to one during the session if there are questions or you are unsure what to do.

Body-Mind Centering® and BMC® are registered service marks of Bonnie Bainbridge Cohen.

You have subscribed to this list to receive information on the zoom classes. You can unsubscribe at any time by writing to the sender 'unsubscribe me'

We will not use your email address for any other purpose. Thank you for your support.

This week's class will be led by: Mark Rietema
Time: 10.30 - 11.30 GMT (London)

Here is a short description:

Soundful Journeys

We manifest and animate ourselves through our breath. Voice, as an expression of breath, resonates and vibrates in our cells. Yet often myself and others feel shy to delve into this rich material. For this class I want to propose a gentle journey into breath, voice, sounds and organs.

Host: Mark Rietema
Co-host: Marina Tsartsara

The class is offered by donation.
