When BBC Team DIY SOS headed to Derbyshire to build a bespoke children’s counselling and therapy centre for traumatically bereaved children and young people, they needed a team of experts on hand to make that dream a reality.

Enter the team at Marlowe Fire & Security – who were ready for the challenge and eager to deliver for such a worthwhile project, just a stone’s throw away from our Risley office in Derbyshire, set within the grounds of Treetops Hospice.

We designed, supplied, installed and commissioned a Cygnus Radio fire alarm system to all areas of the building and Fermax intercom with access control to the main front doors.

We’re thrilled with the results, and are delighted to have contributed in a really meaningful way to a local cause that will benefit thousands of bereaved children in the future.

Well done to Paul Mather, Paul McIntosh and the team for delivering on our promise.

Today we will be paying our respects and remembering the service and sacrifice of the Armed Forces Community.

This Armistice Day, we stand in solemn remembrance of the heroes who have given everything for peace.

Take a moment to view these beautiful photos captured by one of our Engineers, showing the incredible poppy display in Whittlesey, Cambridgeshire. The residents of this community knitted 200 armed forces figures, symbolising the Royal Navy, British Army, and Royal Air Force.

Their handcrafted tribute reminds us of the sacrifices made by those who serve, and the unity that binds us all in honouring their memory.

By 2025, all communications in the UK will take place on an ALL-IP digital network.

The switch over will mean that alarm signalling and phones will no longer work like they do today.

This means that if your fire, security, or any alarm system isn’t already using IP and/or 4G to send alarm signals, it will need to be upgraded before you switch to ALL-IP for your phone services, otherwise, you could be left unprotected.

Congratulations to Sam Smith, Commercial Contracts Manager, for achieving July’s Employee of the Month award.

Sam joined the business in 2022 as Commercial Contracts Manager with the aim to improve and standardise our approach to contractual governance. Over this relatively short period of time, Sam has become a valuable and trusted advisor to all businesses in the Group.

Attention business owners! Did you know that from 1st October 2023, fire safety legislation is changing in England and Wales?

Section 156 of the Building Safety Act will be introduced. One of the main changes is that ALL businesses will need to record a Fire Risk Assessment and fire safety arrangements in full – regardless of the number of employees, and size or type of business.
