We are delighted to have sponsored Ashgate Hospice's Sparkle Night Walk this year, it is an incredible event for an even better cause.

The total raised was a record breaking £341,854. In addition, over £45,000 worth of gifts and services in kind helped make this event possible in order for these funds to be directed to patient care.

This could pay for the care of one of the beds on their Inpatient Unit at the Hospice for over a year, giving patients 24/7 expert care when they need it most.

The special event brings the community together and helps provide the best end of life care.

There are now also 1,000 wonderful walkers registered to 2025’s event on Saturday 28th June!

With over 3000 people walking the 10k night event on the 22nd around Chesterfield, we'll be powering & lighting the way by supplying equipment to help run their main stage, food and drink stalls, and entertainment tents.
Thanks to the local branches and the Chesterfield Brandon Hire Station team for all their hard work. And finally, a massive 'Good Luck' to all those taking part!

As many will know, England play against Denmark on Thursday 20th June in their second group game. Kick-off is scheduled for 5pm, therefore to make sure that everyone has the chance to get home before the game starts, our branches will be closing at 4:30pm today! ⚽

Over the course of this month, we have hosted the first National Voice of the Colleague forum in Birmingham, bringing together representatives from each region and the Customer Service Centre.

At Brandon Hire Station, we are dedicated to making our company an even better place to work. Through listening groups led by Jon Mugridge, our Operations Director and his team of Regional Directors and Department Heads, we identified key issues affecting our branch and call centre colleagues, aiming to implement the improvements they need for the best working environment possible.

A huge thank you to everyone who attended the sessions and contributed to the discussions. Special thanks to Ryan Taylor, Jake Turton, Mark Sandrone, Jay Wilson, Scott Palmer, Jack Brunger, Becci Worrall, Will Robinson, and Scott Lingard for representing their teams so effectively. Your contributions were invaluable!

Last week, a number of our team based in Cornwall had a fantastic time at the Kernow Construction Summer Party in Newquay! 🎉

Gareth Fisher, Matt Nuciforo, and our local branch managers John Billing (Redruth), Steve Davies (Bodmin), and Christian Philp (Truro) joined the celebration to support and network with local businesses.

Following on from our previous announcement on our certifications, Brandon Hire Station are proud to announce we have been awarded the RoSPA Gold Medal (5 consecutive Golds) Award for health and safety performance.

We have also been awarded the RoSPA Fleet Safety Gold Award for managing occupational road risk of 2024.

We are delighted to announce that Gary Gibbins has been nominated for the prestigious Workshop Manager of the Year award! 🌟

Gary's journey with our Exeter branch over the past six years has been incredible, starting as a driver with a background in mechanics, Gary's determination propelled him into the heart of our workshop operations.

As Workshop Manager, he plays a pivotal role in ensuring that our equipment is not only readily available but also maintained to the highest standards, ensuring seamless operations and customer satisfaction. Beyond his managerial duties, Gary's hands-on approach extends to regional repairs and providing invaluable support to other branches when the need arises.

Transitioning from the world of cars to the intricacies of our plant business, Gary has demonstrated remarkable adaptability. His acquisition of new skills, including mastering electrical diagnostics on technical repairs, reflects his pursuit of growth and expertise in his field.

Recognised as the Employee of the Year for the South West region, Gary's dedication and contributions have not gone unnoticed.

Gary's sage advice to aspiring professionals resonates deeply: "Don't give up, it can be mentally challenging constantly testing the same things but don’t give up!”
