How our family job gave birth to our new branding 😊
Warren was keen on having an image and not just our names, an image preferably of an animal, leading to a list of various animals. Paola found the concept appealing and joined in the search. Emma then contributed by drafting several animals, with the Ibis being the final pick. She produced a range of samples, each so striking that making a choice was challenging. Additionally, our friend and neighbour Damian played a great role in making the perfect files ready to be used . And now, here we are: Sign-Boy Dan is painting our fascia sign today, filling us all with immense joy, so much so that we're going to celebrate!
And you will see our hanging sign at some point!!!
Preferably, beautiful objects stay together in beautiful cabinets.

Just a very small fraction of our vast collection of antiques and art books. Many are quite old but we cannot separate from them.
I was literally ecstatic to finally assemble them all in our new location after a few months being packed in boxes!
Enjoying the change at a very slow pace with this deep and rich blue with green undertones 😎
I think that for a while I will be a "fundamentalist" of this union between an elegant, fine object or piece of furniture and a decadent, worn and somewhat mysterious background.

I just wanted to thank all the lovely people that made us so welcome in Wincheap. It is such a great feeling and today we even received this nice gift by a lovely couple that lives near by. We feel very privileged for all this warm welcome, thank you so much to all.

Although we have never been closed as a business, the shop is now open, even if with just a temporary look, which will gradually change.
However, our new shop is already a little vain and eager on having admirers, both passers-by and people who would specifically come to visit it.
If you come specifically, please give us a call before, just in case we are out for buying or delivering. Very exciting time!!!!
Can’t wait to replace this hanging sign with a like for like one.
This one was quite dangerous, and Warren skillfully took it off. While I was watching him, also to make sure that nobody was close by in case the sign fell apart (as it did), I was thinking about how many little things make the whole of a long-term project and how it is important to enjoy every single step of it.

I apologise for such a bad quality of this image, but this is what I found in my archive and right now I cannot take another photo of this little naïve portrait that I’d like to show you today. Back in 1999 I had a love at first sight, a sudden and irrepressible love for this picture. And I bought it with that enthusiasm. I almost ran out of money and I would have stayed in London for another week, but I preferred to give up other things instead.
I was not familiar at the time with this type of very English portraits, therefore, it was an even more authentic and genuine crush.
I paid it a considerable amount of money, perhaps adequate only now after so many years. However, I have never regretted this purchase. Of course, a good deal, which means spending less on something worth more, is always more satisfying, but in the end the fact is that I like my little boy in the blue dress (yes, he is a boy) now as then and, indeed, more and more.

When I met Warren, yes, at the end of the last century, one of the things that struck me the most about him, was the fact that, since a very early age, probably eight, he loved to search, collect and soon buy old things, antique objects and unique items carrying traces form the past.
For his eighth birthday, he asked his parents a writing slope similar to this one, which we obviously keep as a family treasure. Currently the original object dwells far from us, so I posted something very similar just to give the idea of Warren's smart taste as a child 🤩

Our new shop will open in Canterbury, more exactly in Wincheap, historic main trading road which gives access to Canterbury to those who arrive, for example, from London.
It will take time, but it will be a beautiful place.
In the meanwhile, we are "always open" thanks to the Internet and eager to tell you a bit more about our story and our vision.

It has required time to complete the purchase for this property and it will require time to prepare it, but today we can finally say that our new address is 102, Wincheap, Canterbury.
A very exciting time is waiting ahead for us and we look forward to it.
Thank you to all our customers, friends and relatives that have supported us during these last few months.

A vintage hand carved Elk antler Cribbage Board. Good shape, very tactile and looking quite sculptural.

An outstanding rare pair of hand carved classic Black Forest picture or mirror frames.
These distinctive pieces are masterfully and traditionally sculpted out of limewood resembling, in an extraordinary way, the appearance of tree branches which are finished in the traditional dark brown colour.

Made in London by the notable brand Leon Paul London, these fencing helmets are crafted in metal and canvas. They have been fairly used showing a wonderful vintage character.
Condition commensurate with age and use. No tears, just some expected old marks which are just part of the charm, otherwise still strong, even though to be used nowadays as great display items, rather than fencing masks.

Candlesticks are the most graceful of all fixtures for small tables, dressing tables, coffee tables and similar.
This is a good pair of Victorian Sheffield silver plated candlesticks with a good telescopic movement.
