I may not have mentioned it, but I've been back at scarboroughyogaspace for a couple of weeks now.
Unifying the breath with movement as we flow, stretch and strengthen. A practice for body and mind.
Feel free to come join in any week. While some classes can be challenging, there is a place for all levels and all bodies.

Where can you find compassion for yourself.
Find that edge where you allow yourself the capacity for growth without allowing your ego to push you too far and risk injury.
Find the still point in your mind, free of judgement and comparison.

Feeling old is what I get when I try to interact with social media.
I'm not old, but in my lifetime technology has moved on so quickly. Sometimes you blink and everything is so different.
In the spirit of Spring and New Beginnings I'll be challenging myself to roll back the years and master this whole online business life.
I look forward to coming out of this winter cocoon and sharing my life and work with you all.
The classes this week will all be sharing that theme of emerging out into the Spring. Allowing old habits and thoughts that aren't serving you to be left behind.

If you'd have told me 5 years ago that I'd be up at 6am, plunging into a cold shower and then going out for a frosty morning run. I would've laughed at you through a thick cloud of smoke and depression.
Yet here we are.
I feel like I'm settling into my 30's.
Finding a healthy relationship with my body and my mind.
A healthy relationship with food and technology.
It all feels a lot simpler than in my 20's.
Hopefully, with the right amount of work I can take that simplicity with me through the rest of my years.
The options are always there if you feel you'd like to re-assess the relationships in your life.
It's not always easy and not always simple.
But there's a great community out there waiting to help you along the way.
Enjoy your day whatever it is that you are doing.
Make sure to smile, and stop for a breath.

Starting next Wednesday, the 8th, I'll be introducing a new class .
My mobility Flow is designed to work through all the joints; strengthening and stabilising the body, encouraging a wider range of motion.
It's available as a stand alone purchase or through the Scarborough Yoga Space new day pass.
The pass allows you unlimited access to the 12 day classes being introduced from the 7th of February.

I used to really doubt people who told me they enjoyed their job.
Surely it was just the same lie I was telling myself.
A means to an end.
It pays the bills.
It puts food on the table.
All these little stories I used to tell myself to get through the day, to numb out to the reality of monotonous unhappiness.
Allowing myself to come to these realisations was hard. I'm glad I did though.
Over the last 12 months I've found something I can share that happiness in.
Something I can whole heartedly tell people I enjoy.
It may not pay the bills yet but who knows where we'll be in another 12 months.
I'm proud and excited to be working as a yoga instructor and I'm really looking forward to all the big and little steps that I get to take in the future.
Long story short, find dreams to chase and enjoy the challenge that life puts in front of you.
It's never too late.
December definitely took a lot out of me. The stresses of the world catch up with us all from time to time.
Over the last two weeks I got my body back on the mat, sat myself on my pillow to meditate and started to get back to the positive habits that allow me to deal with those stresses.
Then today, I woke up feeling that relaxed joy again.
Consistency brings wonderful results.
I'm looking forward to bringing that back to the studio as I hear up to get back in the swing of holding space.
My classes are all back at the same time, and has a fantastic new year yoga offer for anyone looking to make their own positive habits to carry into the rest of the year.

Staring out over the sea often sparks that sense of curiosity within me.
What's out there? What's in there?
It holds up a mirror to yourself.
It's easy to look out and be curious, but how often do we look into our own inner ecosystems with that same curiosity?
How often do we check in with our breath?
How often do we check in with our emotions?
How often do we check in with our body?
I may not be perfect, but I'm so grateful for the opportunities my practice gives me to take note of these questions.
Your life is an ever evolving story. Never stop being curious.

On Saturday November 19th I will be hosting a Men's Yoga Night.
A 2 hour holistic yoga journey.
To help raise awareness and promote physical and mental well-being for boys and men.
The evening will start with a welcome meet, a chance for each of you to voice any concerns or anxieties you may be carrying. From there weāll jump on the mat and move our way through a complete yogic journey. Weāll breathe, weāll move, weāll stretch, strengthen and finally find some well-deserved stillness.
Suitable for all levels, weāll build from the ground up and create a strong foundation for you to utilize both on and off the mat.
