Scarborough Goldwing Light Parade is this Saturday!

The Scarborough Goldwing Light Parade is one of the UK’s most glitzy GoldWing charity events of the year, held every September, it has become a popular tradition for Scarborough, bringing thousands of bike fans from around the UK to the South Bay for a free seafront party.

The site of the stunning motorcycles, decked with flourescent lights, blaring music from the bikes' loudspeakers and driven by riders in fancy dress all adds up to create a truly fantastic spectacle. No matter what your age you're sure to find yourself captivated by the vivid visual display and aural assault as the bikes roar past you on the sea front.

Since the Goldwing Light Parade debuted in Scarborough in 2008 the event has raised over £62,000 for the R.N.L.I Scarborough and Filey Lifeboat Stations. Following the launch of the brand-new lifeboat and construction of the new boathouse, this year the Goldwings will benefit another great cause; the Yorkshire Air Ambulance.

Schedule is as follows -
- Daytime static bike display 12pm-4pm on the West Pier and Foreshore Road.
- The evening parade starts at 8.00pm, leading the riders south along the Foreshore to the roundabout. From there the procession turns back along Foreshore Road and around Marine Drive, looping at Peasholm and returning to South Bay promenade.
- Firework display from the beach starts approx. 9:30pm.

Ensure your overhead lockers are secure and your plate trays are up... no, I'm not an Air Hostess, but it's Thunderbirds Are Go tonight at the Open Air Theatre in Scarborough as Busted takes to the stage.

We don't want anyone to be in a Bad Mood as Soap will be supporting, along with Sleepwalking experts, Skinny Living.

We are hoping tonight will be a Good One, especially with a good weather forecast. It was high tide around an hour ago (1545), so we have less chance of being Shipwrecked In Atlantis.
I've heard on the Radio that it's already getting busy.

It may be a Reunion for fans in Scarborough for those previously seeing the group, but if you are new to the venue, here are a few Nerdy bits of info for you!

There are no food stalls directly outside of the venue, but there are businesses open within a short walk (5 mins).
Stand with your back to the ticket office and head to the left of the roundabout towards the sea. You have bars, ice cream and shops.
On the second exit of the roundabout and up Columbus Ravine, you have food venues and shops. And behind you n up the hill is another bar!

We will Meet You There tonight, as my colleagues will be on patrol outside of the venue. Feel free to say hi, ask for directions, or ask Who’s David?!
The team will also be there to keep you safe.

We don't want you to be a Loser Kid and risk being refused before you enter, so please keep to the rules of the site. This includes being in the queue.
Toilets will be to your left in the car park should you need to go.... It's not the Nineties... no peeing in the bushes, please.

Now, the event won't be going on till 3am, and the Council's team will look to close Burniston Road towards the end of the event to allow a safe area for the exit.
Please watch for the big signs, as we don't want anyone to Crash The Wedding, barriers, or safety zone.

This is the last event this year at the Open Air Theatre.
Although I took a trip to the year 3000, not much has changed, but they live underwater, and there's no longer me doing these song postings, but the robot replacing me is doing pretty fine.

After an incredible 8 years Rebecca and I have made the very difficult decision to close Clark’s Restaurant with our last service on the 21st September.

Our journey on Queen Street has been filled with countless laughs, shared stories, anecdotes and undoubtedly life long memories. We’ve both taken great pride being part of the Scarborough restaurant scene and serving you from 2016.

We want to extend our heartfelt gratitude and appreciation to our amazing customers, suppliers and of course staff (present and past) for your unwavering support for us. We are eternally grateful for the relationships it’s provided us with.

As we approach only 5 weeks until we close we hope we can bid you a fond farewell as much in person as possible as your support as been the foundation of the restaurants shared success.

Once again, thank you from the bottom of hearts, we’ll miss you all incredibly and thank you for allowing us to host so many of your shared special occasions over the years spent at Clark’s Restaurant.

We hope you remember the good times spent.
