Hip pain can often arise when the tendons on the outside of the hip are overloaded, especially during intense training or changes in running terrain. But fear not! Strengthening the tendons around your hips can help to prevent to onset of hip pain. Consider incorporating these exercises into your strength training routine to complement your running regimen…

3) Banded side kicks

✅Pre race: While you taper and rest in the final days leading up to race day, it’s important to keep your body moving.
✅Post race: Yep! You’ve still got to move. It’s oh-so tempting to collapse in a heap with a glass of bubbly. We get it, and you deserve it! But do try to keep moving to improve your overall recovery.
A common complaint among runners is the sensation of stiffness, particularly around the hips, calves and upper back. The above mobility exercises can be practised before or after a run to help keep your joints and muscles feeling mobile and supple. 👌
