Back box on the left installed by us. Back box on the right installed by the ‘electrician’ from the plumbing company. Originally he had it further right - it was pointed out that the walls will be dotted and dabbed plasterboard and that his back box was too close to the side wall - he moved it left - it’s now too close to the light switch back box!!

I’ve been an electrician for a good few years now, and choose not to post every job I do on social media, but I can’t NOT post about this one.
I was asked to carry out some remedial works, following works by another LOCAL electrical contractor.
Instead of fitting the recessed lights between the joists, this absolute numpty decided to cut into the joist, completely destroying its structural integrity as it had already been notched from above for the pipe as well as having had a hole drilled through it.

Lights moved over a bit and joist strengthened with additional timber and construction screws.
Floorboards and carpet in bedroom above refitted.
Over to the decorator for the making good now.

Power and lighting at the new Fairoak Stables yard.
Yes, the sky was THAT blue this week!
Thoroughly enjoyable job - utter privilege to work in beautiful surroundings and doing something a little bit different.

Special consideration has to be made with electrical installations involving animals - particularly those that wear metal shoes!⚡️

When was the last time you pressed the ‘Test’ button on any RCDs or RCBOs in your consumer unit? There should be a label indicating for you to do 6 monthly! Do it when the clocks change - that’s this weekend - you’ll need to reset the timer on your oven and clocks anyway.😀
