It was lovely to be included in the Sevenoaks Makers Exhibition at the Kaleidoscope Gallery in Sevenoaks this week.
Photographer Roger Lee has been taking pictures of local makers & crafts people in their studios & then everyone else had been invited to submit a picture of something they had made.
I submitted Jane Mucklows' picture of my red hooded Jacqueline gown & it made it to the wall!
The exhibition is only on for a couple of weeks but it's a very interesting little exhibition! It has also made it to BbC news https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/c78lezy8e7no.amp

And now for something new!
"Dress of the Month" is my new concept to create a more sustainable fashion buying business model.
Each dress will be made to order and only a very small amount of each design in each fabric and colour will be available making it limited edition and ethical.
The fabric is high quality deadstock fabric and this is a very low impact and sustainable way to buy beautiful handmade occasion wear!
My first dress for August 2024 is MADI an ivory crepe above the knee dress with v front and back neckline.

So thrilled to have the absolutely stunning wearing this one of a kind bespoke dress for her red carpet appearance for the London premier of on Thursday night!!
This pink sequin cut out dress is possibly my favourite dress that I have designed!

This is the second one of a kind bespoke dresses for that I created for the finale of at the beginning of this week, how quickly it's gone!
This gorgeous red floaty chiffon maxi dress has two high splits and a cut out bodice as she looks stunning for her filming around the pool!

This year I have been sewing professionally for 40 years recalling my first part time work making repairs and alterations for the local dry cleaners whilst I was studying to learn fashion design and clothing construction! How time flies!
In August I will also be celebrating 10 years in business designing and making ethical luxury occasion wear and look forward to sharing a special anniversary announcement with you very soon!

Another great picture of two of my designs for the photoshoot for the Hatfield College Charity Fashion Show at Durham in February.

Pictured left is my black silk off the shoulder mini dress with dome shaped skirt and to the right is my patterned backless maxi dress with tiny pleated detailing on the front bodice.

A couple of backstage pictures from the Hatfield College Charity Fashion Show.
It's always nice to see other people enjoying wearing your designs and how they are photographed.

I like these black and white images, particularly the first one of this outfit made from small segments of fabric and sewn together with just a stitch and a button to add detail.

The second image is of just 2 of my designs, the left and right but not the 2 in the centre, but showing my silk black panel mini dress with a slightly spherical skirt and my silk two tone mini dress.

Back in February I was invited to show some of my designs at another university charity fashion show, this year it was Hatfield College of Durham University and I think I have shown at Durham for several years now!
As you can probably tell I love what I do and love sharing my ideas with everyone and I know that the charity shows are an important but fun part of the calendar for the university and so I am more than happy to take part in their fashion shows especially as sustainability was the theme this year.

You might recognise some of the pieces from previous collections and as always are made from ethical fabrics.

At the beginning of last year I was asked if I could make some bridesmaids dresses for a special wedding in the South of France!

This was a fabulous wedding to work on, as I say no two people are the same, and with this wedding it was the individuality of the bridesmaids that made it special!

Here's a fabulous picture of a truly beautiful wedding that I was blessed to be involved with which took place in September in the South of France!
I created all four of the individual bridesmaids dresses which are bespoke made for each of the young ladies, who all wanted to have their own dress design. I did not make the brides dress pictured here in the centre of the photo.
