At our Easter Dementia Cafรฉ our guests were asked to send messages to King Charles and The Princess Of Wales. People sent to them their very best wishes in respect to their health. As with the rest of the nation we had genuine concerns about their cancer diagnosis. On Monday, our Hub received a card from the King ๐

On Monday 24th June, the music department held their summer concert at the Minster campus. The event featured students from years 9 to 13, performing a variety of music that they had been rehearsing over the last term. We were treated to solos, duets, trios and whole class bands and the atmosphere was wonderful! The students showed us once again just how hard-working they are, and we were all amazed by their talents.
Well done to everyone that performed โ we are so proud of you!

On Wednesday the 4th of June the cast of Oasis Academy Isle of Sheppey's Matilda embarked on a trip to the west end to see how the pros do it. The sun was shining and students (some of whom had never experienced London before) were eager to see the famous sights of the city. Upon arriving in the big smoke, the group set about seeing The Queen Elizabeth II Tower, Westminster Palace and Abbey before an obligatory stop at McDonalds.
Placated we set about on a walking tour led by the intrepid Mr Morris to Piccadilly Circus, Leicester Square and Covent Garden with brief stops at all manner of intriguing shops. After a shopping spree round Covent Garden and with the sixth form adorning their matching "I Love London" jumpers, we headed for the theatre!
As you would expect the show was brilliant! Students were amazed seeing their characters alive and big on stage. Students laughed and even cried at points... don't worry ... no one saw. It was so lovely to see the look on the younger children's faces as the magic of a west end show washed over them. For some of our students this was their first time going to the theatre and not a moment was wasted on them. Its nights like these that remind you why theatre is so important!
Back on the coach and it was time for a sing song all the way home. If you want to experience some of this magic for yourself, why not book tickets to see the last ever Oasis Academy Isle of Sheppey school show on 9th and 10th July. Details on when tickets will be on sale, coming soon
