So far, throughout July we will be supplying eight charities and teams with brand new books for children affected by cancer, grief and long term illness. We will also be supplying books for use around the hospital, at external events and for children staying in hospital or attending appointments through The Children’s Hospital Charity.

Our aim is to donate at least 1000 books in total.

We are incredibly honoured to be able to do this and as we make our way through the next few weeks we will spotlight the charities and teams. We will share more details about the causes, what they meant to Jude, and us as a family and the support they provide.

It would not be possible to keep this going without the support of so many people who buy books to make it possible. Please check out our website where you’ll find more information about the way we’ve already supported some charities and good causes. You will also find links for our wishlists on there. You can send donations via PayPal which we will then use for buying books.

So far we have boxed up around 300 books ready to go! We have started earlier to allow a few weeks of boxing up time as my ever-growing baby bump doesn’t make this a quick job at all.

Update: Bluebell Wood Children's Hospice have accepted our offer of books so we are now supporting a whopping nine brilliant causes!

Our Bereavement Support Group is meeting this evening 7-8.30pm at our Funeral Home.
Anyone grieving and in need of support are welcome to join us. You don't have to of used our services in the past. The group is open to everyone locally. We are a small, friendly group who chat and listen in a safe, non judgemental environment 💕

The family would like to inform you that Pat, sadly passed away peacefully in hospital on Friday 8th March aged 66 years.
A Requiem Mass will take place at St Joseph's Catholic Church, Handsworth on Friday 5th April at 10 am followed by burial in the Churchyard. Afterwards a reception will be held in Handsworth Social Club, Hall Road to which everyone is welcome.

Tom of Handsworth, Sheffield, passed away in Hospital on 11th February 2024, aged 98 years.

A Requiem Mass will take place at the Church of St. Joseph, Handsworth on Friday 8th March at 10-30am, followed by a private committal at City Road Crematorium.

Pamela Turner of Beighton, Sheffield, passed away at home on 29th January, aged 76 years.
Pamela was a much loved Mum, Nan Nan and Great Nan Nan.
A celebration of Pamela’s life will take place at City Road Crematorium on Monday 19th February at 11-45am, afterwards everyone is invited to continue sharing stories and memories of Pamela at Beighton Welfare, 52a High Street, S20 1ED.
Family flowers only but donations for Breast Cancer Research may be given on the day.

Well what an amazing, emotional evening of remembrance at this years Christmas Memorial Service with almost 200 people attending the beautiful St Marys Church Handsworth. A massive thank you to Fr. Keith Johnson, Steve Clegg and Andrew Platts for their thoughtful and uplifting contributions to making the service so special, to Shirlee Fearn, Kay Gibson, Rebecca Woodhouse, Gillian Blakeman for the immaculate organisation, to Kev Cooke and Cam Knight for setting it all up and being there to help tonight. None of this is possible without these amazing people. Last but by no means least thank you to all those people who attended tonight, we hope you that found some comfort from the service and once again I want to say how grateful we are that you chose us to care for your loved ones. Have a peaceful Christmas ❤️

On Wednesday evening our Bereavement Support Group had a lovely evening out at the Robin Hood Aughton. It's such a lovely group which we are honoured to be a part of. The group is open to anyone who needs some support with their grief, we meet fortnightly on a Wednesday 7pm-8.30pm at Grace Church, Richmond Road.

Two years ago we started work on our Meadowhead funeral home at Evelyn House, 298 Meadowhead, S8 7UH.
The transformation was amazing and we are very proud of what we have created.
We are so lucky to have Tracey Wilson to run this funeral home and look after the families around here. Tracey is someone I have known and respected for almost 30 years, serving the bereaved families of Sheffield, she is well known around the S8 area and her charity work has led to her become recognised as a community champion. Tracey is caring, patient, understanding and kind, perfect for the role she has in helping people.
Many people know that I spent 10 years of my working life at G&M Lunt funeral directors in S8 and when the time came to go it alone I didn't set up my business here because I felt it would be disrespectful to Michael Lunt who had taught me so much.
Now that Michael has retired and sold the business to Beverley funeral homes I felt it was the right time to return to my roots to expand our services and was fortunate to recruit Tracey who knows the area so well.
I do hope you like what we have done with Evelyn House, if you want to pop in to have a look around then feel free, Tracey will always find time for a cuppa and a chat.
