Whispers in the Wind

A year apart. Still rewilding, more birds, more wild flowers, more trees. Greener this year.

She is not part of home here, but she is part of my tracking territory. She is part of my divination path. She is part of my internal and external landscape and she is part of my heart. A short distance from home, but no further from my heart.

The trees here whisper stories of wind and water - she is part of a flood plain and she feels and speaks differently because of this. A special whisper, a special song, of the immense quiet the flood waters bring.

The most intricate woven silver and gold threads of story, of the more-than-human, sparkling in varying intensity. Gleaming equally, in the summer sun and against the winter floods. Threads of reciprocity, of an innate knowing and understanding. A friendship born from listening without ears and humming stories. A friendship born from walking in wonderment of her beauty.

Tonight’s Shamanic Drum Journey & Drumming Circle was such a magical time, full of wow moments from incredible drum journeys.

We wandered out into the dusk and drummed together around the fire under a special mature Sycamore tree. Bats flitting above our heads, Blackbirds calling the night in 🩷 This land LOVES being drummed to 🩷This work touches every inch of my soul - I love it so, so much.

Shamanic Drum Journey and Drumming Circle this Friday 7-9pm at The Snug. £15

Journey to meet and deepen your connection with your Guides and the Shamanic realms, finding the threads of magic they hold for you.

We will then drum in circle, and surrender to the hum of the drums. Bring or own drum or borrow one of mine. All welcome, no experience needed.

If the weather is good ~ we will wander out onto the land here and drum down the Sun together.

Beautiful few hours connecting with the ancestors and spirits of the land and the more-than-human world, with some wonderful souls.

We walked the drum, did ‘Deer ears’ and other practices to connect deeply with nature, before drumming around the fire.

Snuggled in The Snug the drum journeys were gorgeous and powerful ~ a day of connection and re-connection 🩷

Old stone paths, wriggling their way through the mountains. Two wild ponies, one’s mane a blaze against the ragged stone backdrop.

They crossed our path ahead of us. Perhaps to avoid the humanness, the break of day brings. On sure legs, surfing the cotton grass as they navigate the terrain to their sought destination. Our footsteps placed next to theirs, in soft mud.

This lovely little building has been home to sick/ injured birds of prey, whilst being rehabilitated- to then be released back into the wild.

Dexter cattle and my beautiful horse, while I had her.

Now this space has been transformed and I am sharing her with you. She is cosy, private and the land here holds the most incredible stories of re- wilding and transformation and of the ancestors and spirits of this place.

This is also my home and my heart. There is much magic here.

Introducing the Snug, nestled in the secret world of rewilded and special lands, just outside of Nesscliffe.

I have been guardian of these lands for 16 years, holding them through every season, loving, caring and tending, gently. Hearing the whispers of ancestors and spirits of this place.

The path that meanders through the wild kin of plantain, nettles, dog wood roses and elderflowers feels as though it is a silver thread, woven deeply around my heart as over these years of tending we have become so closely intertwined.

Knowing the land in this way, knowing the spirits who live here, the stories and hearing the invitation from my kin that has arisen this year to open up the sanctuary of this place to you.

In a very special event I will be holding my first
Shamanic Drum Journey and Drumming circle on these lands. On Friday 14th June 7-9.30pm.

We will gather at 7pm in the Snug where I will drum for you while you journey to explore your Shamanic realms, the Other Worlds - where your guides reside, with unconditional love for you, guidance, wisdom and healing.

We will then wander out on to the land here and drum down the Sun together. Drum in the hush of the dusk with the dusk bird chorus around us.

Bring your own drum, or borrow one of mine - or you may wish to settle down and immerse yourself in the collective rhythm and beat of our drumming circle and breathe into the vibration and magic.

Absolutely amazing day tracking with wonderful Kara in Wales. Deepening my tracking practice and expanding my skills.

Beaver field signs! Oh my goodness I was so excited! Otter, Polecat, Stoat, Shelduck to name a few of the prints and tracks we found and a dead Adder.

All these magical story threads left for us by the more-than-human - my imagination and mind are so alive with tales of these wild one’s lives, paths, the way they move through the landscape, different times, different species- their prints a moment in time under the sky, sun, moon and stars 🩷

Isn’t she beautiful? She’s a very dear friend of mine. Do you see her portal to the Otherworlds?

Today the Deer and the Land gifted me this huge Fallow deer antler. Naturally shed from a Fallow stag.

I didn’t realise why I was being so drawn to walk a certain way, and I didn’t realise why I had stopped walking until I looked down. Just left of my feet lay this beautiful and instantly cherished gift.

The stories of the stag whom this belonged to are etched into his antler in scratch marks and notches. Barer patches where he has rubbed up against trees. The stories of the trees have been whispered into his ears. The long grass of high summer kissed his knees, as he has walked along his paths, on slender and quiet legs.
Marks where he has clashed antlers with other stags during the rut. Part of his life map, golden threads of story and the land, right here - such magic 🩷

Last nights Shamanic Drum journey & drumming circle was bliss.

I so love the sparkles and twinkles in the eyes of those who have just journeyed. So much magic, adventure, healing and connection experienced by journeyers completely new to this and those who already have very close relationships with their guides and the other worlds.

I can never say how much I love this work! I am so passionate about it - because I know how life changing it has been for me and I so love to share the magic with others 🩷

Our drumming circle welcomed some newly birthed drums, which made it even more special.

Moments like this make every part of my being twinkle 🩷

I spent the day in Wales with wonderful Kara, deepening my understanding of bird language last week. Lots of sensory practice to really tune in and increasing my awareness of how I move over the land.

Our hunter gatherer ancestors would have relied upon bird language to read the landscape. Birds tell everyone if there is a predator around, whether aerial or on the ground. They can help us foretell a change in weather too. A bird alarm call meant I turned around to see a Goshawk glide past!

Sitting amongst the trees listening to the conversations of the birds was pure medicine 🩷

Solitary is not isolated. Solitary is a hush, a gentle out breath. Surrounded by the spirits of the land, water, sky, trees and earth. And a hound.
Solitary is sanctuary, a friend with their hand at my back.

26th May - Spirit of the Drum. Your own Shamanic drum is ensouled. They can be a real ally and friend, full of their own magic and wisdom. Connect soulfully with your drum. Learn to drum a Shamanic journey for yourself, among other practices. Feel into how you can weave drumming as a practice of its own, into your life.

Shamanic journeys so incredible. Dream like, incredibly precise and so full of love and wisdom from the Guides. I honestly love this work so much!
As we drummed in circle we all felt the Ancestors right behind us and with us in circle. Just magic, so much magic!

A very rubbish photo….but today I saw them! I’ve been tracking these Fallow deer now for months on my wanders. Their tracks in mud, hair caught on fences, flattened grass where they have been lying up and my imagination alive with the stories of their lives every time I walk here.

A few weeks ago while I ambled along the hedge line I felt the presence of a being and there, literally the other side of the hedge a Fallow stag stood up. He was so close I could see the texture of his fur, I could smell him, his eyes looking back at mine. If I had put my arm out I would have touched him. It was such an extraordinarily magical experience I wondered if it had happened in this realm at all. It had; I found his tracks.

These creatures have filled my mind, my imagination, my night time dreams and my day dreams. But today, I knew I wanted to walk with the wind - I love walking in the wind, and as I did, in full conversation with her, wind in my face, hair blowing behind my ears - I saw them with my physical eyes, I thought my heart was going to burst with joy. I knew them already. Familiars, friends. A memory made of pure magic.

A day spent connecting drum and human beings on a deep, soulful journey - a friendship.
Shamanic drum journeys to the spirit of the drum, have left me a bit blown away, by the magic experienced by those who attended today!
