Firstly we’d like to thank you all for taking the time to read about our event and register your interest I. It. For those coming on this mammoth journey from Twickenham to Preston Grasshoppers, thank you!
A few weeks ago, Sean, Jon and I went for a meeting at Sale Sharks rugby training ground with both club and charity, Looseheadz.
Looseheadz is a charity which aims to help people in rugby who are suffering or struggling with their mental health and offer them a confidential approach to get help with the aim to prevent su***de.
I’ve chosen this charity as rugby has been kind to me over my 20 year playing career and I'd like to give something back. It’s helped me through my darkest times and for that I will always be grateful.
Our plan is simple; to cycle ride from Twickenham to Preston in two days!
The dates we riding are Friday 18th and Saturday 19th August. Upon arriving at Hoppers in the Saturday, we’re hoping to have a charity rugby match organised and Sale have discussed sending some players, as well as representatives from LooseHeadz.
Sale mentioned they’ll donate signed merchandise to be raffled off, so if anyone has contacts for other prizes please let us know.
