Pumpkin Workshop Flowers & Fairies Fancy sprinkling some Autumnal magic? Come & create a Floral Pumpkin arrangement or whimsical Fairy House inside a Yorkshire Grown Pumpkin
Yesterday in the plot filled my heart. It was warm, sunny, full of rich bright colours bees and butterflies 🦋 I feel like it’s been a long wait to have a day like that and drank it all in. The dahlias have been slow but putting on a blousy show now , hey just fashionably late and full of sass!
EVERLASTING flowers all home and dry. More to cut today and store ready for workshops, weddings and bouquets. As a farmer florist they extend our season and bring a welcome pop of colour during the shorter days.
For now though can we all just look at that clear crisp morning. We’re so lucky to have seasons let’s work hard to look after them x

🍂AUTUMN WORKSHOP ALERT🍂
‘Ti the season for all things pumpkin and spice. Not one to rush through the seasons I love nothing more than a pumpkin latte, pulling in a woolly knit and tucking into apple crumble. {how do you take yours?} I’m an 80s custard kinda girl!
It’s such a nostalgic time too, back to school, Kicking through the leaves, thoughts of Halloween followed by toffee apples around the Bonfire, why rush ahead with the commercial stores to the ‘C’ word when there’s soooo much to enjoy before then.
To celebrate all things Autumnal we’ll be hosting a Pumpkin workshop creating Floral Arrangements and Fairy Houses 🧚♂️🎃
If you’d love to come and create one for your very own for your home or local business drop us a message to save a place Xx 🪄
International Dogs Day is literally everyday in our book, but today is extra special. Rosey pop has enjoyed a family walk and swim today and is the best garden companion a girl could wish for. Bro Teddy loves coming to play and when little Betty is in the mix, well it’s just the best kind of chaos. We love you to the Moon and back pups x 🐾🐾🐾
In the plot this morning, lots of colour
1. Teddy Bear Sunflower
2. Cosmic Cosmos
3. Calendula head ready for confetti
4. Neon poppies
5. Sweet Pea pickings
I had lots of company this morning and the garden was full of little frogs , bees and bugs. There is however, a lack of wasps and butterflies which is concerning. When I harvest I leave plenty for all the wildlife too. So the more orders I have, the more snipping I do, the more the annuals replenish. Now that’s a working wheel I am definitely on board with.
If you’d love a bunch of freshly cut flowers just ping me a message x
For the love of Sweet Peas…. It’s been a tough year growing these beauties. Three initial sowings that fed the mice, hey alls fair in flower farming with nature, late planting out, lots turning yellow and giving up before they’d got going - despite being healthy once planted along the run. So what are we left with. Well a sparse run compared with usual and two tee pees. Those that made it through are really catching their stride. (Would you look at the length of that!!!) hop over to Stories. I do not take for granted any crop, even the easy ones like these. In flower farming we’re subjected to so many external factors beyond our control. So they really have been loved and nurtured, sometimes with tears along the way, but working sustainably remains our number one priority x
Sunshiny flowers and a spot of fishing today. We caught tiddlers and put them safely back, watched butterflies in the garden, picked herbs for dinner and cut lots of bright blooms at the annual plot, grew an enormous sweet pea, yeay, a good day x
So over the last week, we’ve walked you through the bridal party flowers, the ceremony the after party. The best part, you get to relive your day …
Happiest Anniversary Alice & Nick x

Bridesmaids, best friends, flower girls, the support squad. Being surrounded by friendship not just on the big day, but on the run up too, is so special to see. There to share the most special moments together ✨
I fell in love with Alice’s Bridesmaid baskets as soon as she showed me and creating foam free mechanics so there were no spills, the flowers were fresh and easy for the girls to hold was a challenge I couldn’t wait to get stuck into. What do you think ?
Cutting this evening after all the rain, brushing past some of the flowers I was picking this time last year ready for the lovely ALICE , so when I headed indoors to catch up on Wedding admin I thought I’d share just a few more shots from ALICE & NICK’S beautiful day

Little Thank You’s heading out today. I will always remember my first teacher, Mrs Ibbotson, she played the guitar at the end of each day, gave the best hugs. Inspiring and caring role models definitely stay with us. I still look up to industry teachers and have role models I guess today. Enjoy the Summer our fabulous Teachers x ☀️
Couldn’t have said it better myself, my favourite two things.
Hands up of your a Wildflower, Wild Horse kinda gal 🐎🌾
On the up, the plot coming on and enjoying the heat. Lots of buds, the calendula, snaps, linaria and honeyworts making an appearance 🌼
This post is not so much about flowers but friendship, and collaboration. For the last few years Rachel has kindly ordered my flowers, hosted my floral workshops and been such a huge supporter since I set up my little business. I love delivering each week and the team that work together running the Cafe are such a great bunch, I wanted to shout out, that they too are all artisans in their own right.
Rachel lovingly handmakes jewellery and beautiful candles .smiths .wicks
Danny forages the hedgerows and creates delicious seasonal vinegars
And Jake who in his other profession, smokes food, now I know that’s not the correct terminology but it’s a pretty cool art form in itself.
I’m very grateful to work alongside such an inspiring group of people, for the coffee, for the chats and definitely for the support x
The poppies are here. All the shades of red through to peach. I love how their pods slowly open to reveal their papery petals.
A day well spent with the morning at the annual plot planting out and this afternoon in the perennial garden. Now for a bbq, well it would be rude not too! Hope you’ve had a good weekend x
Just a little midweek pick me up. The garden is basking in sunshine right now but there’s storm clouds just beyond, the race is on … anyone else shower dodging this week? ☔️
When your outfit matches the flowers. It’s nice to know I’m on trend sometimes… well with the florals anyway. If you tuned into last night, purple and all its many shades are definitely a theme at this years Flower Show! Who else will be glued to Chelsea this week or maybe you’re even lucky enough to visit the many show gardens and marquees ? 🪴🌸🐞🐝
We visited the beautiful this weekend and the colours were spectacular. Rose loved padding through the dappled shade and we were blown away at the size of the Bug House. What a fantastic place ! With so much to see we’ll be back
I’m often asked I bet you have lots of flowers in your home, and the answer is yes sort of. Slung into a spare vase, those that are too open, too short, the snapped ones all find their way into an array of random vessels. I’m loving the current Trend of a single variety and am enjoying these primary Anemones, and blousy white tulips just as they are. All the orders are out for the weekend, the new seedling watered well. So it’s into the garden for the afternoon, have a great weekend! X
We it doesn’t look much does it 😂 but the first wave are in. The weather held and I have Beavering away whilst listening to podcasts about far flung places in the world, which I love - being transported to another place while being very present working the ground a great cocktail, with a flask of coffee thrown in
Now just to grit them all to stop the slugs and snails before bedtime 🐌 x
Out with the old in with the new… and just like that the Tulip bed has become the sweet pea run. (I actually need another one so looking at space)
Turn and burn, crop rotation, succession planting what ever you want to call it, it’s onto the next seasonal shift. I feel very behind this year with the weather and super nervous after three showings of sweet peas after they were eaten by little 🐭 , with rain forecast I have scattered grit around them in the hope the slugs might leave them alone. Lots more to plant out in the coming days, it fills me equally with excitement and nervousness, … right here goes!!
FAREWELL FLOWERS all different and personal, whether florals are hand-tied posies to then gift to friends and loved ones, or tall and natural arrangements reflecting the season you can be comforted that we always use British Flowers and Sustainable mechanics
It’s so important to us whatever your faith to provide the most meaningful blooms and foliages available to us, be it home grown, local and from fellow growers whilst leaving no harmful impact to nature 🌿
Bright Bouquets ready for wrapping ! It was brilliant to be asked to create seasonal bouquets for some of the team at this weekend’s Fellsman Event at local Kilnsey, there was definitely a buzz around the area all weekend ! 🧭🗺️📍
