Micro-suction ear wax removal
Micro-suction is a method of removing ear wax from the ear using a specialised microscope and suction probe. The use of a microscope allows the clinician to see clearly into the ear canal during the procedure, making it the safest method of ear wax removal. The suction probe is then used to latch onto the ear wax and pull it out.
The process is comfortable and is performed without the use of water making it an efficient way to remove wax.
Our highly experienced clinicians perform micro-suction using state of the art equipment in a modern and comfortable environment.

Facts about hearing loss.
Hello July
“Never put anything smaller than your elbow in your ear!”
You should never try to clean the inside of your ears with cotton buds. All you will be doing is pushing the wax further into the ear canal causing it to compact.
The ear canal is very delicate, so it is always best to get ear wax removed professionally.

Some of our favourite sounds. What do you enjoy listening to?
Did you know our sense of balance lies in our ears?
The vestibular system is located in the inner ear and is responsible for maintaining equilibrium. In fact, the cause of the majority of cases of vertigo lies within the auditory system
Welcome June
All about the Eardrum.
The eardrum, also known as the tympanic membrane, is a thin layer of tissue which is stretched tight like a drum in the ear.
The eardrum separates the outer ear from the middle ear.
Sound waves are funnelled into the ear canal where they hit the eardrum causing it to vibrate. Processes in the middle and inner ear change these vibrations into signals that the brain interprets as sound.
Video otoscope
Have you ever wondered what your ear canals look like?
When you visit us for your micro-suction ear wax removal appointment we will show you the condition of your ear canal before and after treatment. Using a video otoscope you will be able to see your ear canal clearly on a big screen infront of you.
Mental Health Awareness Week.
This week is all about mental health awareness with the theme this year being ‘loneliness’. The aim is to encourage people to make meaningful connections with friends, family, colleagues and communities.
For those living with hearing loss, loneliness can be very common. Hearing is our most precious resource as it is what connects us to people, enabling us to understand and feel their emotions.
When people struggle to hear, they start to avoid social situations not wanting to interact, which in turn leads to social isolation and loneliness.
If you feel you are missing out on important conversations and are struggling to connect with those you love, talk to us. We listen so you can hear. We can help bring those beautiful sounds back into your life.
Ever wondered about the hole in your ear?
The ear canal, also called the external acoustic meatus, is made up of skin and bone.
Some ear canals are narrow, some bendy and some hairy, but they are all normal.
At the end of the ear canal is the ear drum which separates the outer ear from the middle ear.
The ear is made up of the outer ear (the ear canal), the middle ear and inner ear.

Cleaning your ears day to day
Ears are self cleaning. Day to day ear wax will do its job of protecting inside of your ears and then move towards the outer ear where you can just wipe it away.
You should never try using cotton buds to remove the wax from your ear canals. Wax does not need to be removed as it has a job to do, also, by inserting a cotton bud into your ear you are likely to push the wax deeper into the canal and cause a blockage.
This week we are celebrating 2 birthdays!!
Happy birthday wishes to Isabella and Mike.
What is ear wax?
Ear wax is a natural lubricant and antibacterial material produced by sebaceous glands within the ear canal.
Its functions are to:

Ear wax can vary in colour from yellow, orange, brown or dark brown. It can be hard, soft or flaky.
