Happy weekend to you ⨠You know anything you do with attention and intention is Yoga on or off the mat đ As a Yoga Teacher, Iâll guide you to understand and accept where you are and that your effort is the journey. It takes time to âfeelâ into asana, but with regular devotion, your breath and mind can gently create space, and your body responds. There is no âshort cutâ with Yoga, thatâs why itâs called âpracticeâ, this is where the real magic happens and you discover so much about yourself. Like all yogis Iâve fallen, wobbled and had frustration, this journey continues to teach me qualities such as humour, to try, trust, never give up and never compare! Your body can always do way more than you think⌠where ever you are starting from. Yoga is for everybody. Practice safely & enjoy your yoga. Jo x
Good morning to you! Yoga practice brings awareness to your breath, clears your mind from thought, and creates freedom in your body. A union of everything you are and everything that is. It teaches ahimsa - kindness towards your body in action and thought. Ahimsa is at the heart of yoga. The first of the Yamas, which are the first Limb in Patanjaliâs Eight Limbs of Yoga. Yamas are guides for self-control, so we may live a life aligned with our integrity and interact within the world around us. Ahimsa - translating to non violence is the very first one. Towards ourselves, others and the world. We can bring this into practice on and off the mat. Listening to our body in asana, never forcing, trusting & accepting where we are right now. Off the mat we can be mindful in our thoughts, towards others and of course ourselves. Our brain is programmed to believe what we tell it⌠When you think of things you love, how long does it take to reach yourself? Simply put, Ahimsa is yoga. Itâs certainly not always easy, but this practice helps us strive towards our self care so we may also care for and nurture others.
