We recently had a catch and coffee up with Will, our fab finance assistant at HQ!
How did you start at BTP?
3 years ago I started as a Barista in Stratford. Through the support of Karl, my General Manager, I started an apprenticeship in accountancy through BTP. After relocating to Bristol, I was working two days a week in our support centre with team finance, as well as working part time in café until recently. I'm now committing more and more time to the team in the office!
What are your passions outside of work?
In my spare time I love climbing, gaming and all things Warhammer.
What is your go-to coffee?
A black americano, I cut out milk from life and haven't turned back!
How's your apprenticeship going?
Great, I'm currently doing the final gateway so I'm almost finished! It has been so valuable to work part time in team finance alongside doing my qualification. I'm excited to see what's next!
Will is an all-round Boston good egg. Give him a wave next time you see him in one of our cafes👋

🌈 Pride at Boston. This year we asked our teams to celebrate their communities and show their Pride with some homegrown displays, and my-oh-my do we have a talented bunch 🤩 It's important, now more than ever, that our Pride comes from within. That starts with listening to our teams and communities and striving to , all year, every year.
🍪Don't forget our Pride cookie is still available in our cafes until the 19th of July, with 50p from every cookie sold going to our pals at Galop to support their incredible work!

£50 could buy clothing for an LGBT+ person who has to flee with nothing
£75 could provide a counselling session for an LGBT+ survivor of abuse and violence
£150 could get a young LGBT+ person fleeing abuse and violence off the streets for a night..the list goes on
Can't make it in store to buy a cookie? Why not donate directly to Galop. The link is in our bio!
We recently had a coffee and catch up with the lovely Davey, Head Barista at our Whiteladies Road café.
How did you start at BTP?
5 or so years ago, at the old Whiteladies digs. I came on board as a supervisor but, after realising it wasn't quite stoking my fires, I moved on over to Head Barista. This wouldn't have been possible without the support of Theresa (who is now one of our Support Centre superstars, in charge of all things Learning & Development). Here I got to dive head first into all things coffee and my management training really cemented my precision, multi-tasking, forward planning, and love of developing my very own team.
What are you passions outside of work?
Sounds a little cheesy but I love a great cup of coffee, it quite literally gets me up in the morning. I've also taken up sewing and customising my own clothes.
What's your favourite memory at BTP?
When Charlie, a member of my bar team, finished second in our Bristol Latte Art Throwdown - just 8 months into life at Boston!
What is your go-to coffee?
Got to be an 8oz black americano. I always want to taste and savour the complexity of the coffee.
What's next for your journey?
I am moving on to work for Extract Coffee Roasters , who supply our coffee. The connections I have made and time I have spent with Boston has led me to a great opportunity to take my passion to the next level. I am moving over to be a regional barista trainer, which thankfully will include coming back to see (and train) the next superstar BTP baristas!
Hats off to you, Davey! 😎
Laughter, lattes and long overdue catch-ups. We'll bring the brunch, you bring the stories.
Pssst, have you checked your inbox lately?
A Lucky (Saint) has just won themselves a BTP gift card, Lucky Saint shirt and case of beer! We'll be in your DMs soon...
Shout out to everyone who took part 🍻

🌈This Pride Month, we are proudly raising money through our Pride Cookie for Galop , 50p from every cookie sold will be donated to help support their incredible work, as if you needed more reason to tuck in!
Galop is the UK’s LGBT+ anti-abuse charity, working directly with thousands of LGBT+ victims and survivors of abuse every year. Galop runs four national helplines, and provides longer-term advocacy and therapeutic support. Run by LGBT+ people, for LGBT+ people, Galop has been at the forefront of challenging anti-LGBT+ abuse since 1982
Last week we held our third Boston Barista Academy of the year at Extract Coffee Roasters in Bristol.
It was awesome to see our baristas dive in and discover more about our journey with Extract, our own house coffee's origin story, and put their senses to the test with a cupping of some delicious brews.
Not only is top notch coffee in the (latte) heart of everything we do, it's in the DNA of all our cafe teams. That's why the BBA isn't just for budding baristas. Our cafe management teams are also invited to come along, fine tune their flat whites and pour love into their lattes.
Don't take our word for it, the proof is in the pudding after all... or in this case, the piccolo ☕
Kick back (before England kick off ⚽) and let us do the hard work today.
Whoever you're celebrating, show them who's Boss with a brunch at BTP. Tuck into top notch ingredients, homemade hash browns and a beer (or two) before the big game. They only deserve the best after all...
It's deep, it's real and it's reusable.
We are true believers in small changes making a big difference. in 2018 we made the (admittedly, rather big) choice to remove single-use takeaway cups from our cafes and haven't looked back since.
Amongst all the moving parts in that process, it was essential we make the reusable journey easy for you, our everyday heroes, and help inspire a wave of change. We like to think of our cups (and any reusable cup for that matter) as a statement. Every time you and fill up that cup, you can stand proud knowing you are sending a message and saving a single-use cup from landfill.
Bring your own reusable cup - or carton or yoghurt pot or avocado shell, we've seen it all
Borrow one from us - for a low, refundable deposit upon return to any cafe
Buy a customisable Ecoffee Cup - and find your new soulmate (like this lot did)

To be the best place to work in hospitality we need the best leaders in hospitality. Leaders who recognise the value in training and developing themselves as well as those around them.
Our Aspiring Leaders Programme paves the pathway to creating an authentic culture of learning at Boston. The programme aims to empower our Good Eggs to move through our business to become the leaders of tomorrow. It has been designed around key Leadership DNA that we believe are essential to realising our purpose of Making things Better.
Since its launch in late 2022, we have seen 19 of our GM’s make their way through the programme, with a further 27 on their way to graduating. We are so excited to see our leaders continue to progress in their careers in hospitality, and our aim for the ALP is that it acts as one of the stepping stones in their learning journeys, helping them get where they want to be.
However they like their breakfast (because they can build their own here!),
It's always going to be;
- Free-range meat
- Organic milk
- Sustainably sourced ingredients
👋 Oh hello, another day off? Don't mind if we do!
