Saqib Bhatti, Solihull Videos

Videos by Saqib Bhatti in Solihull. Please note - Parliament has been dissolved until after the General Election and I am no longer an MP

Great to have met with the NFU Midlands team and farmers from across the constituency. I work closely with the NFU and will continue to do so if I am re-elected on July 4th supporting our farmers and ensuring we have food security.

Ps Labour only had 87 words in their manifesto around farming and just goes to show how seriously they take our farmers.

If you care about our farmers, our countryside and key issues like food security - vote for Saqib Bhatti on July 4th. ✅

Out campaigning today and just received some wonderful news… I’m an uncle!

I want our children have the very best start in life. That’s why I run an annual career’s fair, an internship program. I’m delighted that we have four family hubs in Meriden and Solihull East including ones in Elmdon and Kingshurst. I will always work to make sure our children have the best opportunities.

Since I was elected in 2019, I have worked every single day with one focus: to make this the best place to live, work and raise a family. A big part of this is preserving our green spaces and protecting our precious greenbelt for future generations to enjoy. I have worked on the side of communities to campaign against inappropriate planning and advocated for new housing with a brownfield first approach.

Great morning in Meriden on a beautiful day. Lots of good conversations especially around the importance of protecting our precious greenbelt.

Thank you Andy Street for your endorsement! Andy has been a giant for the West Midlands and I have been working with him for over a decade. Since entering Parliament we have worked on a number of projects jointly all with one aim - to improve the lives of the people we represent. This is what he had to say 👇

In an increasingly perilous world, our defence matters. That is why I lobbied the defence secretary to increase our defence commitment to 2.5%. Only the Conservatives can protect this country- this is what the Defence Secretary had to say about my work. 👇

Over the coming weeks you will be hearing about my priorities. Here I set out why we need an Accident and Emergency in Solihull. Watch below and see if I can make it in 60 seconds⏱️!

And we’re off 🚀
My official launch today for my campaign to be elected as the Member of Parliament for Meriden and Solihull East. In this launch video I lay out my five priorities and I’ll be setting them out in more detail over the coming days. I have already been knocking on doors across the constituency and I look forward to continuing that and speaking to you about the things that matter to you. Thank you for all your support.

So there we have it - as of midnight tonight I’ll no longer be Member of Parliament and will be candidate for Meriden and Solihull East. As my last act I attended Chadwick End Parish council’s Annual Meeting and then went to Bickenhill to meet with parish councillors and local residents about the impacts of local works.

Great to see everyone at my business forum this morning at Solihull College and University Centre! Some really interesting discussions about how businesses can get involved with young people and attract local talent. I set up my business forum to bring businesses from across the constituency together. Having been President of the Greater Birmingham Chambers of Commerce I know how important it is bringing businesses together. Today was the last one of the Parliamentary term! Thanks to all attendees for a wonderful morning!

Last day of the parliamentary term! Here’s a video I did this morning as I made my way into parliament. Please note my office will still be doing any urgent casework and you can contact my office at [email protected]. I look forward to speaking to as many of you as possible as I campaign around the constituency.

🎙️ Great to join @BBC5Live this week and speak directly with parents about the work this government is doing to protect children online. With great reward comes great responsibility, and it’s crucial that platforms comply with the Online Safety Act for the safety of our kids.

It was great to catch up with Alfie and hear all about his current Autism Awareness Fundraiser. He’s been cycling 5k a day for a whole month! As you will agree Alfie is an inspirational individual carrying out some great work. It’s was great to see how technology is solving issues for those who need help with accessibility. Huge well done to Network Rail stations for maximising the benefits of AI to help improve travel journeys for those within the deaf community 👏 #NationalBSLDay

Knowle Precinct Update and Andy Street’s reflections on the High Street
Knowle was recently voted one of the best places to live in 2024 by The Sunday Times. Its High Street with its heritage its character and its independents was a major reason for that. A few weeks ago Andy Street, myself, Ian Courts Leader of Solihull Council and Visit Knowle met with the owner of Knowle precinct to find out his plans and express the need for that part of the High Street to be improved. Andy and I walked down the precinct reflecting our meeting and I even got to ask the former head of John Lewis about the future of the High street. This is what he had to say 👇
