At the beginning of the year I designed a test fixture to check the clone Arduino Uno boards we sell. It has a few on-board peripherals like leds, push buttons, a thermistor, pot and 2-digit display so we can check out that the i/o, adc and interrupts are working.
It has turned out to be more generally useful as a development platform for Arduino code in a number of projects and, it has been mentioned, that it would be great for students or anyone else wanting to learn coding.
