A commissioned piece for an 18th birthday present. The bail was the perfect opportunity for me to put some wood clay to use… it is used to hold the form of the silver clay so it doesn’t collapse whilst drying or heating. It worked a treat!

It was an honour to make a piece for an old school friend. We used to write notes in class to each other and here I was 20 years later stamping her sons initials and birthdates on silver.

I used letter punches to stamp the marks, blackened them with a liver of sulphur patina and polished using radial discs, polishing paper and tripoli polish on a buffing dremel attachment.
