No matter what, these are the three essential products that fit into my skincare regime every day.

1. Retinol - AKA Vitamin A. Can take a while to build up usage of this as it can cause redness/itching if used daily from the first instance. Only applied at night as it can make skin more sensitive to the sun. Also, not safe to use in pregnancy.

2. Vitamin C - protects the skin from UV damage and so often best to apply in the mornings as it can help prevent UV damage during the day.

3. SPF - most important! Lowers skin cancer risk, avoids sunburn, helps prevent signs of aging, maintains even skin tone … the list is endless! Broad-spectrum SPF is best as it protects against both UVA and UVB rays and it should be worn all year round.

I always offer a repeat face-to-face appointment after 2 weeks of an anti-wrinkle treatment to review its effectiveness and see if any adjustments need to be made.

As you can see for this first-time patient, there was still some slight movement to her upper forehead which we were able to review and make some ‘tweakments’ as required.

Consultations are an essential part of any treatment as it is a way to get to know your unique face. I’d rather err on the side of ‘it’s easier to add than subtract’ …. in other words, administering cautiously than administer too much in one go.
