💖 ! Join me on Wednesday's 11-12pm at for parent and baby dance classes *no dance experience needed!*
Expect to groove, stretch and dance with a group of adults and our babies, to great music! I bring a selection of scarves, ribbons, hats and other items that are child-friendly, for the babies and adults to dance together.
This is a flexible and friendly class where children can be fed anytime throughout the session, and adults can join in whenever they can, in any way they can.
Things to bring: water bottle, snacks, blanket for baby, soft toys for bigger kids, loose, comfortable clothing.
About me: I'm Sam Gilroy, a dance teacher and choreographer. I've been working with people of all ages, to move, shake, feel good, have fun. I trained in contemporary dance and ballet, and I use a range of styles including street dance, Salsa, and Charleston, inspired by the music. Since having my baby girl Adelaide in 2023, I have developed a dance class for parents with their babies and toddlers to recover from the strains and stiffness after having babies.
Here's what people have said about my parent and baby dance class:
👉"Such a lovely and relaxing dancing class today Sam, thank you so much 💖"
👉"Thanks Sam for a fab class, it lit me up with the scarf"
👉"Thanks again for today's class! I really enjoyed it and can't wait for the next one.🌻"

Thank you for bringing your workshop to Cornwall museum! I'm so glad I got to see these beautiful people in the flesh to feel reconnected with friends, colleagues and my dancing community, and take time to get inspired and cook up ideas for working with museums and heritage sites ❤️

💫THANK YOU for an epic
I first met at a Workshop where I met and both of them held an amazing space where I could be my whole self, angry, despairing, totally in love with my new baby but loathing the hardships that motherhood had brought and the confusion about what was going on in my brain and body.
And yesterday was the first day of the first ever Matrescene festival. It is a momentous time, a massive and reaffirming time that has brought so many women together and voices and experiences that are so valuable. It's especially wonderful to have words and language and as Lucy Jones quotes in her book, , with that comes a whole new world that is uncovered and finally we can begin to make real change in our policies and thinking now we have actual respected research, facts and stats.
I can't wait to get creative, dancing, choreographing, writing, singing and sharing more with friends, family and family my community. We are all fu***ng rock stars!
And for anyone interested in the necklaces I was wearing, check out my amazing friend and mother who makes -

Welcome to the world our baby girl. The last 2 weeks have been a whirlwind and we couldn't be luckier with our gorgeous girl and are loving our family trio and all our brilliant family helping us everyday 💕
We discovered she was breech, lying side on in my belly the day before her due date, so we were fortunate to meet her right on time! Adelaide May Gilroy Richardson was born 20.04.2023, 12.42 at 6lb2oz or 2.8kg and the NHS staff were phenomenal.
She feeds like a champ and is growing everyday, making everyone she meets fall in love with her 💜
The last 2 months, I've been working as on “Meet Me At The Sundial….”
Before mobile phones were around, where did you organise to meet people for a shopping trip, a catch up or a wander to The Hoe?
Barbican Theatre, Plymouth commissioned 6 creatives ranging from poets to storytellers, artists, composers, game designers and illustrators to spend their time on the buses, finding ways for Plymouth residents and commuter's experiences to be part of their creative responses.
I've had the pleasure of working with them and the Barbican team, to get their content online, and to cura the final event with daytime installation, and evening performance featuring both on
Come and check out the final event on Plymouth City Centre Piazza (at the sundial!) today! Or see/watch/listen/play the content online

🌟January round-up...on the 12th January I led my first F WORDZ workshop to Fareham College performing arts students, who I hope to work with in 2024!
"Sam delivered an engaging and innovative workshop to our students which really helped them to appreciate ways in which performance work can be developed from a stimulus using a thorough research process and exploring ways to rehearse and create work authentically. The students enjoyed experimenting with the spoken word combined with dance to explore ways to communicate with a diverse audience. A valuable and fun experience which has supported their studies greatly" - Caralyn Moss,
Performing Arts Lecturer
Thanks again for having me and I look forward to coming back.
🎉Today I'm leading my first F WORDZ Masterclass workshop at
I'll be sharing our devising processes and am really excited to learn what the students think about
