These are cycle lanes in South Korea. We could do this in roads with a large enough central reservation
This is from Sefton Councils latest newsletter.
They’ve got a real nerve as they decided that a nebulous commercial development, which isn’t even planned yet, was more important than a new wind turbine which would have reduced their own carbon emissions.
Two years of development costing over £140k of the City Regions funds all down the drain for a development which might never happen, and which couldn’t hope to be green.
That’s not taking action on climate change!
From BBC Radio Merseyside Tues 2nd April. Southport Community Energy directors share their disappointment after the collapse of the replacement wind turbine project at the eco-centre in Southport.
What makes this failure even more disappointing is, the project was started by Sefton Council, on land owned by Sefton Council and the primary beneficiaries would have been Sefton Council and Southport's Community. The project supported Sefton Council's stated climate policy and Sefton Council officers attended all the project team meetings over the two year project timeline.
Sefton Council were fully aware that we were funding the project using public money, they should have been smart enough to realise that their decision to ignore their own climate policies and sink the project, would be seen as a waste of public funds.

Research finds wind turbines are threatening bird and bat populations — but experts have some incredibly simple solutions One solution for helping birds avoid wind turbines sounds almost too simple to be real: painting one blade per turbine black.
If you're looking to cast your vote for the climate, you need to look at what they do when in power, not at what they say.
Sefton goes surfing - but clean energy loses out Plus: a victory for Sefton Park and a street art celebration in Toxteth
From the speech today: “Starmer will announce local power plans as part of GB Energy, a publicly owned clean energy company, under which residents would benefit from about 20,000 community energy projects such as small-scale wind and solar farms and heat generation schemes, giving them cheaper bills and so – Labour hopes – a stake in the developments.”
Surely this would be relevant to the wind turbine?
