I work with the incredible resources and collective. This means that all families accessing my Parsnip course will receive all of the physical and online materials as part of the course price. This includes 6 exclusive and dreamy hypnobirthing tracks recorded and written by us. They will also receive their own hand labyrinth which we will use during the course. When you are signed up you get automatic access to the online community all studying birthprepinabox meaning that there are others to chat to and many things to learn.

We encourage our families to also do their own research on topics that matter to them and to this end we have a HUGE library of categorised and reliable sources, evidence and research to delve into. It really is invaluable not having to sift through pages and pages on Google not really knowing which you can believe/rely on and which you can't.

So.....the investment for the course is £250 per family and this includes everything you need plus 10 hours of group teaching. The groups will contain no more than 5 couples to keep things personal and allowing you to (hopefully) develop some friendships too!

This will be held at .nibaby in Moulton, Lincolnshire on a Sunday evening. 6 - 8.30 pm.

Incredible. - On the left you see a fully closed and thick cervix with mucus plug - prior to the onset labor. On the right you see a fully effaced and dilated cervix in labor. The image on the right also illustrates how contractions cause the upper part of the uterus (fundus) to tighten and thicken while the cervix and lower portion of the uterus stretch and relax, helping the baby pass from inside the uterus and into the birth canal for delivery.

Did you know that Dads also experience hormonal shifts and structural brain changes following the birth of their baby?

Researchers have found that emotionally
🤩involved fathers experience:
🤩increased oxytocin (the love hormone)
🤩increased dopamine (the happy hormone)
🤩reduced levels of testosterone (aggression,
s*x drive hormone)
🤩higher levels of prolactin (breastfeeding
hormone)
🤩higher levels of vasopressin (bonding
hormone)

Research has also shown that men who hold their
baby close within the first 24 hours following birth, report better bonding. Dads should definitely enjoy skin to skin too, just a half hour of skin-to-skin for dad essentially rewires their brain. I encourage dad to have his first skin to skin not long after birth, while mum enjoys her first (unforgettable and well deserved) shower.

Other benefits of skin to skin include:
🥰calms and relaxes both dad and baby
🥰regulates baby's heart rate, breathing, temperature and blood sugars; helping bub to better adapt to earthside life
🥰enables colonisation of baby's skin from the
natural flora which exists on dads skin, thus providing immunity and protection against infection.

"The brain also appears to undergo structural changes to ensure that fathers exhibit the key
skills of parenting. In 2014, Pilyoung Kim, a
developmental neuroscientist at the University of
Denver, put 16 new dads into an M.R.I. machine:
once between the first two to four weeks of their
baby's life, and again between 12 and 16 weeks.
Dr. Kim found brain changes that mirrored those
previously seen in new moms: Certain areas
within parts of the brain linked to attachment,
nurturing, empathy and the ability to interpret and react appropriately to a baby's behavior had more gray and white matter between 12 and 16 weeks than they did between two and four weeks."

'But wait,' the pregnant people cried, 'before we have our chat, for some of us are out of breath and all of us are fat!'
'No hurry,' said the Doula and they thanked her much for that.

'A golden hour,' the Doula said, 'is what we chiefly need, breast and chest feeding besides are very good indeed, now if you're ready pregnant dears we can begin to read.'

'Do you know,' the pregnant cried, 'what we will go through, when will we have our babies, when will we be due?'
'The time will come,' the Doula said, 'when the time is right for you!'

'It was so kind of you to talk and you are very nice.' The Doula said nothing except, 'Not knowing comes at a price, Doulas support you in your choices but we do not give advice!'

'It seems a shame,' the pregnant said, 'to play us such a trick, after you've brought us out so far and made us trot so quick. We do not know how to choose or what choices to pick!'

'Ah my dears,' the Doula said, 'I deeply sympathise, but I can help you out with that, let us dry those eyes. The evidence that's here can help with things that may arise.'

'You have the power within yourself, you know that it is done. Please get a doula to support you and come and join the fun. A calm, unhurried birth you know, really is the one!!!!'
