Another wedding dress bear finished today. I will never tire of making these wedding keepsakes. They just look so beautiful ✨ hope everything be had a nice weekend and your week has got off to a good start.

Just one precious cardigan and a tie that belonged to Cherylyns Dad. Now a bear that will take pride of place at her wedding. The little bird on the foot has special meaning to her and the colours were just so perfect with the cardigan.

I’m Claire from Claire’s memory bears and supported by my husband Gary we create beautiful memorial and keepsake Bears.
Back in 2013 from a tiny desk in the corner of my bedroom I started making children’s nursery decor, bunting and cushions. All sewn on a 1970s singer sewing machine, I purchased from a charity shop. I started selling on ebay and then set up a page. Soon we were busy enough to need more space to work from. So my husband converted an old vintage caravan and made it into a sewing room. I named her Betsy. Thats where I made my first memory bear. The business continued to grow , as did the demand for memory bears. So we decided to solely specialise in just bears.
The caravan served me well for a few years. But soon, she to became too small. So in 2019 we built Betsy version 2.0 a beautiful log cabin. With so much storage and work space, I finally had a space to grow my business. It took 6 years to get to that point. Fast forward 4 years on, she stands strong and enables me and Gary to work together full time. We are so proud of our journey and of the work we do. Each and every bear is special and deserves the utmost love and attention to detail. Preserving precious memories is both an honour and privilege.
I am excited for the future ahead and where my business will take us next. I would love to start doing workshops and online tutorials. So I could share my skills with others. Although my tech knowledge of filming is limited .It would be awesome if the SBS crew could play a part in that and help make that dream a reality

Wow how is it 5 years go since I packed up old Betsy (my vintage caravan sewing room) and moved out in to my log cabin workshop. Betsy version 2.0. Such a proud day for me after 5 years of hard work. Thank you all for your support and continuing to help me to do the thing I love. Feeling grateful 🥹

One of my OG patterns still going strong. I made my first one of these 9 years ago. 💜 it was for my little girl Ruby. This one is made from first baby clothes and is just adorable 🩵

Long day in the workshop. Filming processes and finishing 11 bears. 🐻 made three scaled down dresses like this one to fit one unicorn and two bunnies. Fixed a bear that had been poorly made by another maker and completed 7 non button jointed bears all for the same customer. Hello I’m Claire and along with my husband Gary we have been running our small business for 10 years. We make teddy bears from lost loved ones clothing. Also pet memorial bears from their toys clothes and beds ( lots of customers even ask us to put their ashes inside) we also make bears from babies first outfits, as a precious keepsake of their first year.
We also make bears from wedding dresses, even student nurses uniform for graduation bears. There’s so many options it’s too long to list. Each and every bear is handmade with love and the utmost attention to detail. When you are dealing with such precious items, customers would expect nothing less. Besides creating the sole income for our family, the feedback from our customers is just priceless. Knowing how much comfort our bears bring, means the world. I would really love for my business to be recognised by small business Sunday. It’s been a tough journey to get to where I am now and I’m excited for the future of my business. Any advice and guidance would be golden.

It’s so lovely to be able to share the bears I made for Christmas. Now they’ve been gifted. This handsome fellow was made in loving memory of Dad 🩵 and contains some of his ashes inside. I just love his cream jacket ☺️

Just before Christmas I told you I was going to make a Duck 🦆 well here she is. I’m so in love with her little feet . She’s just adorable. I hope that all the bears that were gifted yesterday, brought comfort and precious memories. On a day when we all miss those loved ones more than ever. To have a piece of them in our homes is priceless. Xx
