We returned for our second visit here. A Roast with a bit of a twist, served as a platter or grazing tray I like to call it 😀.
Their food is absolutely amazing, Lamb, Beef and Turkey all perfect. I really do like the plate up yourself method.

Last week's bank holiday weekend Sunday Roast The Maids Head Wicken
Stunning pub in a lovely little village Wicken, nice beer garden out the front onto the green.
Roast beef and Roast Chicken were amazing, not always on the menu but a full gluten free option available. The side of cauliflower cheese was very nice and gorgeous desserts.
Great pub and very friendly staff.
Even have a happy hour on a Friday afternoon 😁🍺🍺

Bit of a forgotten review. We visited here two weeks ago.
It's a really smart and well presented pub with a very warm welcome. The staff were fantastic.
Great variety on the menu even if you wanted something else instead of a Roast.
The star of the show was the LAMB, absolutely amazing, Roast chicken was seasoned perfectly to.
If I could maybe change something, remove the mash and add cauliflower cheese, otherwise delicious roast.

Absolutely stunning food. The Roast we had was perfect, lamb, turkey and all the trimmings 😁.
The pub is looking fantastic, it was busy and had a great vibe. A live singer on a Sunday afternoon was a great touch. I'm so glad this pub has reopened and wish them all the best.

So Sunday first time at The Axe and Compass, Hemingford Abbots . What a stunning pub, fantastic location with a really nice large beer garden.

We had Roast beef and Roast Lamb and the meat was cooked perfectly, also served was amazing Roast potatoes, Yorkshire pudding, red and green cabbage, broccoli, cauliflower, carrots and parsnips all covered with a delicious gravy.
The desserts were so good, the sticky toffee pudding is now in my top 2 😁😋😋😋.

Maybe have an option of a side of cauliflower cheese or pigs in blankets 🙏🙏🙏

Had another delicious Roast at the Crown Inn St Neots, really impressed with the food. Big shout out to the staff as there were thirteen of us and the pub was busy, there were a lot of empty plates. 😋😁
The trio of meats and the slow cooked rib of beef are a must try.

Really smart looking pub inside and out. I really enjoyed the roast, the lamb was delicious, great Yorkshire puddings, the veg was a little hard but I like veg to have a crunch. (maybe not for some)

A roast we've eaten many times over the years and always enjoyed it. Amazing Lamb roast as always with a side of cauliflower cheese. The Parsnip soup was amazing, it needed a big SHOUT OUT, it's on the specials so hopefully it will be for a while. 😋😋😋 Go try it 😉

Had a nice cosy little corner in the pub on Sunday. Amazing food, love music and even Santa popped in 😁. One of the best all round Roasts around 😋

So my birthday is today and the wife made me a cake, kinda goes well on the page 😂😂

This place was recommended by a friend so thought I'd give it a try. The food here was absolutely delicious, the roast had everything you want from honey roast parsnips to cauliflower cheese all in. Faultless food!!
The staff were great and restaurant/clubhouse looks amazing.
