At the weekend this beautiful Buzzard sat posing for us 🖤

I’ve loved kingfishers all my life, to photograph them & observe them whilst they fish is just something else!
I’ve wanted the challenge of capturing them diving & thanks to for the use of his hide, myself & had a really good day with so many visits from adults & juveniles. I loved it and with patience & perseverance achy shoulders & a few swears I managed shots i had wanted … & many many out of focus/ missed/ god damn awful images 🤣

My grandad would be celebrating his 90th birthday today, he himself loved photography & had his own darkroom in his attic & I used to love looking through his photos & have his cameras on display 🖤… he would have loved to see that I took up the same hobby as him … he also loved the outdoors & always took us on magical mystery tours mainly in the peaks & surrounding areas most Wednesdays as a child as that was the day he closed his shop!

Yesterday I went to my first kingfisher hide with & had the best time … thankyou for the opportunity & what a gem of a place you have!!

We saw 4 different kingfishers (3 adults 1 juvenile) and in the rain it made for my favourite shots of rich moody colours with not much to do in post 👌🏼

There may be kingfisher spam over the coming weeks & also not forgetting the woodys, wren, robins, blackbirds & bullfinches that I shot as sometimes the little guys are so underrated yet are as beautiful as the other feathered ones.

As usual we have seen lots of wildlife & a special visit to see some LEOs (that’s my 5 done) thanks to .l.harder … great to finally meet him & was lovely to meet too 😊

Captured this little fella along our coastal walk yesterday. Decided not to take the camera on our walk today after a successful couple of days.

The one thing I’ve noticed on our walks is just how fragile the coastal paths are, I’ve been coming up here for 30 years and have seen the changes. Just be careful when shooting the amazing birds as you can’t always be sure if it’s a solid edge or not.

So obviously I have to post a Gannet with me visiting Bempton 😊 like I need an excuse !!!

This Gannet was soaking up those rays on such a beautiful morning, I arrived at 6:20am and spent all morning there. I’m here for a few days and plan an evening visit to capture Bempton at sunset which in my many many years of visiting since being a young girl I haven’t done so!!

This weekend I’m having a chilled one as my body has made me & I have to listen.
I purchased a new ssd as my other 2 are full so I’m in the process of organising those! With this comes me looking through the numerous folders & thinking oh well a quick edit won’t hurt … ffw an hour and 5 edits in & no organising 🤦🏼‍♀️😂

This mornings post had to be this one as I love the background that the North Sea gave, the lighting was beautiful & a little tweak in post gave the lovely aqua colour (blues/greens are my fave)

After a full weekend of photography, enough gannet pics to last me forever (definitely will get more), a trip to Attenborough reserve & now needing new ssd storage I need to organise things!! Or do what I usually do and find forgotten pics and post them & deal with the unorganised pics another time !!

Deep in thought

Now I’ve never posted a gull before, so here’s a Herring gull taken a couple weeks ago . I’m a sucker for a smooth bokeh foreground … little lunch time post whilst looking forward to the weekend

It amazes me just how many they can carry in there at any one time, I have read a record number of 83 once!! (If that is true)
