A Very Happy Sunday everyone, may the week ahead be kind to you all. ❤️
Another cracking walk, included the Trent and Mersey Canal, River Trent and River Derwent. 7.1 miles this time. Some cracking old buildings along the canal at Shardlow.
Happy Sunday everyone, I hope the week ahead is good to you all. ❤️
Cracking walk (10.5 miles) and good company. Covered 3 bodies of water, Nottingham Canal (Disused), Erewash Canal and Erewash River. Also walked across the Bennerley Viaduct, Grade 2 listed structure.
A fantastic trip to The Peak Wildlife Park, first ever sighting of an Arctic Fox and Polar Bear. Highly recommend it.
Insects off the phone, very quiet out there for the little critters.
This weeks offerings off the camera taken at a local Nature Reserve
Happy Sunday Everyone, I hope you all have a lovely week.
Happy Sunday to all my followers, I hope the week ahead is a great one for you all. ❤️
A Very Happy Sunday to all my followers, hope the week ahead is a good one for you all. 🌞🌞🌞❤️
This is a very special moment for me and I'm so pleased to post this here. A friend of mine drew this beautiful waxwing from one of my photos and I'm sure you will all agree she has amazing talent. Pride of place on our Hallway wall. Thank you so much Vicky Eveson.❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Back to our trusty local reservoir this week, mix of birds and insects.
Our last full day of our fabulous week away in the glorious Wales was spent at a fantastic woodland haven called the Di**le on Anglesey, what a place and what a day. 1st ever sighting for both Liss and Me of Red Squirrels and some great bird life too. Brace yourselves for a Red Squirrel overload.
This selection is of several days and the best of a couple of thousand photos that I've taken. The first few are from Nefyn Beach. Then it's South Stack followed by a boat ride to Puffin Island just off Anglesey and finishing at Glaslyn Osprey Centre.
A fantastic trip to South Stack to see what we could see. So many birds and some stunning scenery. This is a selection from my phone and I'll sort my camera pics asap.
First full day in Wales and it's a dog day. The beach had several chasing balls etc, so had to be done.
A mix bag this week, 1st the insects, now the birds. The Red Kite was taken in the Cotswolds and the rest at my local reserve.
Insects from today, rubbish weather so normal photography was not good.
Had a few hours to kill today and was in the vicinity of Westport Lakes so had a walk in the glorious sunshine. Juvenile day today and quiet for both birds and insects.
Feel good factor 10, Mum with 5 Cygnets. Dad was just ahead but always looking back.
What better way to spend a bank holiday Sunday than a walk in the sunshine around Shugborough Hall Grounds with great company. Brace yourselves for cuteness overload.
A Trip to Belvide and had a Kestrel treat, she took a dust bath close to the hide. Also a male Black-cap was singing merrily and very patiently waited for me to take it's picture. But with nesting season for many birds it's quiet out there.
It's well and truly bug and insect season, these are from the last 3 weeks of outings, all taken with my phone.
A trip to RSPB Sandwell Valley, thankfully the weather held up and the birds were kind by coming in close.
Day 4 of 4 and the fingers have just about held up. Burton Mere was todays destination with the hope of yet another first and I wasn't disappointed. What a 4 days, some incredible experiences and bringing in a total of 6 firsts for me so no complaints from me.
Day 3 of my 4 day tour. Martin Mere the destination and thankfully my fingers are holding up. Another first for me today, Whooper Swans, just need the Trumpeter Swan to complete the collection. A slightly quieter day wildlife wise.
Day 2 of my 4 days away and it was back to Leighton Moss after a disastrous start. Went to the Eric Morecambe Hide only to find after taking 10-15 mins to travel 600 yards (Potholes as wide as a car and deep as half a wheel) and 5 mins walking to the hide, that a Warden had been out on to the pool sides and sent every (except 4 Redshank) bird flying out of sight. Fingers are sore so hoping they hold up 2 more days.
The first day of my 4 day trip to the North West of England turned up 3 firsts for me so despite the rain I'll consider it a very successful day.
What a difference a day makes, Sunshine has well and truly kick started the insect season. A mixed bag today.
A Trip to Shropshire this week, Venus Pools. A much better trip than my first a couple of years ago. Plenty of flying action and variety. You will see a sequence amongst the photos which I liked so I hope you do too.
