******This is a bitter sweet post for me.
As of Friday I handed the keys of the shop over to the new owner and starting a new chapter in my life. Due to the journey I have been on over the last year, I am now in a position where giving the time to the lovely little shop it needs and meeting the challenges I now face is proving difficult. I am unfortunately one person with lots of balls to juggle. I made the very difficult descipn to sell and start a new venture that fits better round my commitments.
I just wanted to spend a moment thanking the locals, regulars and friends who have been on this journey with me and supported me in the most amazing ways. I hope I served the local community well not just in food but a friendly face and safe space. This was threatened a few weeks ago but didn’t succeed. The strength of that little community is moving. I have loved the journey I have been on, and embrace the bad with the good and just very sad that my family commitments mean I have had to make such a difficult decision. I do walk away with new friends, relationships and connections and some fantastic warming memories to take with me in my new chapter.
This will always be a very important and special time in my life. Since I am a local myself I hope to keep bumping into everyone ❤️

Almost 10months ago I took over this little shop and boy has it been a journey! I have always found it to be a special shop that has still so much more to give and I don’t mean in turnover. I mean in community spirit, a safe place, a focal point for the locals. I am forever thinking of ways to uncover its hidden qualities. Due to very personal trauma and some ill will of others that you do come across running a business, I felt I had to walk away and almost did.
A retired couple who spent the warmer months of the year travelling about the UK in their campervan with the odd detour abroad, came into my little shop and had a little lunch on the way to catching a flight to Cuba. They expressed that they found it to be a very ‘special’ shop with an old fashion charm missing from so many businesses today. This was ointment to my soul. I had always wanted it to be a hub for the locals or people passing through where they can bump into neighbours, catch up on gossip, get supplies and food they need or even to seek a little sanctuary. It filled my heart with joy that despite the shadows casted by ill intentioned people and my own very personal journey of hurt I had managed to keep the spirit alive and this made me feel incredibly proud. Just shows that it’s not the businesses that make you a millionaire that people remember fondly, it’s the ones with soul and authenticity. ❤️

Just to let you know the shop will be closed from 7th August and will re open on the 15th. Off to spend some quality time with the kids and a much needed escape ⛺️

Todays Special is our Creamy Tuscan chicken and rice £6 😋 A delicious creamy sauce with a slight kick made up of Parmesan cheese, cream cheese and Basil. The chicken pieces marinated in garlic, paprika, basil and chilli flakes.

A little sneak preview of the beginning of a project I have been wanting to do for a few months now! Part of Food 2 Go will be ‘Ollie’s Cupboard’, a little convenience store for your everyday essentials. Eventually there will be an artisan selection of homemade jams and cakes etc. Any suggestions of stock please shout out and I hope to see my regular and locals enjoying having something like this on their doorstep. The initial stock available from Monday.
