Charlie Chicks are only a success thanks to the generosity of knitters creating them. The more we make, the more they can sell, and the more money we can raise for the patients.

✨ Help needed! Can you knit a square? ✨

The Stevenage Postbox Knitters are looking to create a large community knitted Christmas tree for our Town Centre Postbox🌲and we would like as many people involved as possible!

To make it we are asking for as many knitted squares as we can get our hands on. All you need to do is cast on between 15 and 30 stitches and knit a green square.

Not a knitter? Knitting may be easier than you think! Check out the many step by step videos on YouTube.

A perfect activity for children too! Introduce youngsters to knitting and get them to join in with this fun community project ⭐

Worried you won't recognise your square when it's all sewn together? Well worry not! When you drop off your square just pick a colourful pom-pom to pin on and voila!

For anyone feeling energetic, here are 3 cycle routes that together visit all 26 Easter postbox toppers. All start from the Cycling Hub in Fairlands Valley Park. There are 6 mile, 8.5 mile and 10 mile routes to choose from or combine to collect the full set. Happy Easter!

💗 This Valentine's Day many of The Stevenage Postbox Knitters were treated to a lovely tea, coffee and cake gathering by the Mayor and Mayoress of Stevenage and The High Sheriff of Hertfordshire, as a thank you for all their hard work and charity fundraising.

Thank you Margaret Notley, Cathy Bibby and Sally Burton DL for your kind hospitality.

As it was half-term, we weren't able to get the entire crew assembled- there are so many knitters involved and they are very busy bees, but this photo goes to show what a real community project the Postbox toppers are!
