Well we’ve only gone and done it 💪🏼💪🏼
Www.barrelbuiltdesigns.com is now live and ready to take orders !
We’ve turned another corner and hit another milestone in our wee history. Gone from making stuff under a gazebo in the howling west coast of Scotland wind and rain, to getting a tiny wee shed to work in , opened a Facebook and insta business page and now BOOM we have our very own website !
Massive props to for all the hard work getting up and running you’re not only the best thing since sliced bread but an absolute inspiration too💕.
So go have a gander let me know what you think! I’m going to try and update the “Michaels blog - the dregs from the barrel” every couple of weeks so look out for some absolute randomness.

Nice big better of an ice barrel ready for its new home. this is a big old puncheon barrel fully sanded inside and out ,sanded and lacquered bands varnished , seat fitted , tap fitted and nice lid made !
Not to be mistaken with the big bogging inside and out barrels that arrive clatty 😉

Made my favourite little lady a bed side cabinet out of one since she’s been asking me for a “wee barrel” for ages !
Turned out nice I think !

Been after these wee barrels for years !
Picked up 3 proper exited about turning them round for there next life ! One of them is for my favourite little lady of the house and the other two will be up for sale soon. Picture is a standard whisky barrel and the 3 octaves ! Any ideas on what to make with them ???

Evening all ! A little while ago I had the idea to try and break into the wedding market with what I think is a very unique and awesome idea !!
So here’s the first look 👀
This is my “ wedding guest book alternative”
So rather than getting a guest book for your friends and family to sign then it makes its way into the bottom of a drawer never to be seen again , my idea is, using a whisky barrel top have everyone sign the lid turn it into a clock and hang it in a prime location to enjoy forever!

Have your name and special day pyrography burned into the face of the clock this can be burned into the middle or anywhere else you would like , or just have it blank it’s totally up to you !

So what we have is a kit you can buy . A fully cleaned sanded tightened and screwed together barrel top that comes with all you need to make a belter of a memory for that special day ! Barrel top , pen , wax , cloth and clock mechanism.

Get everyone to sign the lid after the special day get it home and wax it using my own home brew fantastic wax , fit the clock mechanism and hang it and enjoy !!!

Something special something different something unique a great centrepiece , memory and talking point .

A wee before my special brew wax and after special brew wax 😁 it really pulls the richness out the oak grain. I think it’s the best finish for barrels you’ll find anywhere 🙌🏼.
