Explore Wallace’s greatest victory on 11th September this year! Join Dr. Murray Cook on a 2 hour guided walk of The Abbey Craig and the Battlefield which finishes at Stirling Bridge itself.

The walk will take place on Wednesday 11th September 2024 at 10.00am. The meeting point to start is at Legends Café which is located in the car park at The National Wallace Monument.

😋 Food, glorious food!

Forth Valley Food and Drink Festival takes place today (Saturday) from 10am-5pm at Forthside Square, beside The Engine Shed in Stirling.

It will be a fun-filled family day out packed with the best local food and drink the region has to offer.

The event, organised by Forth Valley Food and Drink in collaboration with SHS Events, will be a highlight in Stirling’s 900th anniversary celebrations.

With over 50 businesses participating, including artisan stalls, pop-up vendors, food trucks and chef demos, the festival promises a culinary experience that’s as rich in flavour as it is in history.

Local businesses will be out in force on the day, offering everything from small-batch salsas to sustainable living products.

The festival will also offer a host of family-friendly activities, including scavenger hunts, smoothie bikes, giant garden games and a kids’ pizza-making session.

⭐️ Stirling has been named as being the council area with the highest number of top nurseries per child in the country.

Out of all 32 local authority areas, Stirling has come out on top in The Times Scottish Nursery School League Table with 31 of Stirling Council’s nurseries receiving ‘Very Good’ to ‘Excellent’ inspection reports, serving a population of under 5,000 young children.

The data used to compile the lists comes from the Care Inspectorate, the national regulator.

Unison and GMB have suspended proposed industrial action involving their members in the Council’s Waste and Street Cleansing Services.

Their members were due to go on strike from this Wednesday (14 August) to Wednesday 21 August as part of a national dispute over local government pay.

However, following a revised pay offer from COSLA, the national association for local authorities, the unions have suspended their action and will consult with members on the offer.

Alternative arrangements for waste collection, outlined last week, will no longer be required and our collection cycle will continue as normal. Residents should continue to present their bins on their usual collection days.
