I promise, I'm meant to be closed to new intakes!!! But this little one needed help. He's either smashed into a solid object while learning to fly or he's been hit by a car. Can't feel any broken bones so hopefully just soft tissue injury and he will heal in time.

PLEASE HELP! I'm in a desperate situation right now at the rescue. The roofing has failed on the aviary and is letting water in. Coupled with the hot/damp weather it's not drying out and is becoming impossible to keep sanitary. Due to this, several of my immuno-compromised birds are becoming sick.
I'm putting up my temporary aviary as we speak to move them into while repairs can be made. I have 4 birds now that will need to be seen by a vet tomorrow and medicated and potentially I'll need to medicate my entire flock.
I'm at my wits end as the rescue just doesn't have the funding for all of this. Firstly, what I need the most, is a sheet of plastic ideally clear to cover a 8ftx8ft area. This would make a great temporary repair to the roof until I have the funds to fix it. I also need to raise funds for the vet bills that just keep on coming! Medications also needed, some I need to get from the vet, some I can get online.
There are 3 ways in which you can help the rescue.

Meet the pigeons!!!

Welcome to the world little one! Abandoned by his parents so he's in the brooder and I will be hand rearing him. I've decided to name him Steve after my beautiful Steve who we lost last week. He's now nice and warm with a full crop 💕💕💕

Goodnight my little sweetheart Steve 😢💔 you fought so hard. I brought Steve in from the aviary last week as he appeared to be in respiratory distress. I could see he had canker in his windpipe. Its not often you see it there, it's normally around the throat and down into the crop. I treated him and in time he massively improved and was breathing almost normally. This morning he was struggling to breathe again. The canker had returned with a vengeance.
After discussions with the avian vet I decided to have him euthanized and allow him to pass peacefully. I couldn't let him continue to struggle to breathe with canker that we most likely wouldn't be able to cure. He was slowly suffocating.
I'm so sorry I couldn't save you Steve but you're ok now. You're safe and free 😢💔🕊

Please all send your well wishes to gorgeous Hugo. Poor soul is really ill and I've brought him indoors for urgent care. He is one of the birds the rspca took. I fought so hard to get him back and was successful but the ordeal left him stressed and open to illness. Hugo came to me early last year with a dropped wing. He was a strong and confident boy, always chasing the girls. Since the rspca torture he's been poorly with various different stress related illnesses. He's an older bird and I'm so worried he won't make it through this.
Please fight little one. You can do this!!! :'(

It's a happy day at Spirit Pigeon Rescue!!!! I finally finished the aviary (almost) and the birds are now in there!!! 🎉🎊🥂🕊
I need to do a bit more work on the outer aesthetics but it's Pigeon ready inside :) it's amazing how I, an amateur, can do a much much better job than the 'professional'.

So now that I've demolished the crap aviary I have a much better idea of what I'm left with in terms of a base. What an utter shambles!!!!! I've had several quotes to have a new base but it's all completely out of reach financially. I'm running out of money, energy and will. Feel like I need to just rehome all of my birds and just forget it! 😡😢🕊

I simply couldn't let my babies spend another night in the crap aviary so I've spent the day throwing together a temporary aviary under my gazebo to keep them dry and sheltered. To everyone, my rescue Spirit Pigeon Rescue UK is now permanently closed to new birds. If you find a bird please do not ask me if I will take it. I'm always happy to give advice and point in the right direction but I simply cannot take any more birds. Rehabbing is seriously taking its toll on my home, my health, my emotions and my finances. I need to get things in order again. I will be rehoming all except a few of my 40 birds so if anyone can help with that it would be much appreciated. In the meantime I'm always desperately in need of wild bird seed and puppy pads. I'm sorry to all the birds I have to turn away, but I'm no good to anyone if I don't look after myself.
