That's £1750 donated to The Mayor of Stockports Charities Stockport's Sea Cadets. Thank you to all who attended and supported in many different ways including former Mayor Councillor Wendy Meikle at our event for the Mayor in May whilst Linda was in Hong Kong. Former Mayor of Stockport Graham Greenhalgh was a pleasure to work with and kindly invited our Chicks & friends to a tour around the Town Hall and drinks in the Mayors Parlour where we made a donation too. We also supported The Mayors Ball in April and Graham came to say hello at our Chicks 3rd Anniversary Party. The fundraising continues...........

❤️Many have asked so I'm sharing pics of the lasts few days of Mummy Lams journey. If too distressing please scroll past but I feel we did mum proud🙏

💙Mummy Lam's ashes have at last been escorted to our home village in Tap Mun Island, HK. My brothers family accompanied her on the ferry and made sure she was seated happily in the hills surrounded by the sea.

😔I'm still very up and down but feel I can now mention without getting too emotional and share her sending off with you as many of you have asked.

💔Although she was a good age at 88, I've still lost my best friend and many a time I wake up hoping it's a dream and reach for the phone to ring her. I would ring her for advice or to tell her about what our next charity was as that was something she was most proud of. I do still talk to her photo every day which helps.

💙Mum helped many people over the years and had her name on a plaque on the hospital wall where she spent her last days through her donations and fundraising. Yes, this is where its from! I would be happy if I could do just half of what mum did for others and the community🙏

❤️Mummy Lam brought light into every room and I'm sure she will be with me until we are re-united. Many of you got to meet her at our charity events where she especially loved the Mayors chains and also sang a Chinese song without music and words. What a sport she was🎤

🙏I am most grateful for all of the kind messages which I have started to read, bouquets of flowers, cards, calls, white gold (money to go towards her sending off) and to those who attended her sending off over the two days on 13th June at Po F**k Shan Funeral Parlour where a Vigil was held and 14th June Wo Hap Shek Cremation Centre where she was cremated.

Thank you Mummy Lam for your support and strength on the opening of Rainbow88 in 1999 and we will hold a 25th Anniversary party in memory of you very soon

You can RIP now Mummy Lam and we will do you proud as a family and at Rainbow88 with the team who loved you❤️

🐥Rainbow Crispy Chicks celebrated our 3rd Anniversary recently. The group was put together by Linda Lam in May 2021 for ladies who wanted to meet other like minded ladies for friendship and events. Most Chicks plucked up the courage to join on their own in a safe place like Rainbow88 and are made to feel most welcome by original Chicks. It has proved successful and so many friendships for life have been formed. As a group we frequently meet for Carveries, Coffee mornings, Tribute lunches, Afternoon tea and some smaller groups will organise other meet ups as it can't always be a large group. We celebrate Chick birthdays on a monthly basis and deliver a bunch of flowers to Chicks who need a pick me up 💐

The Chicks are a safe, friendly, kind, non judgmental no pressure group of like minded ladies supporting one another at all times in many different ways including offering lifts, advice, company, care and encouragement. Many have also either been on holiday together or built up the confidence to go solo. We now have a private FB & Whats App group run by a very motivated group of admins🐥

We enjoyed Rainbow delicious hot buffet, Snacks brought in by Chicks followed by cake made by Chick Marion. We had a game of Heads and Tails and a few awards were given out to Chicks who have gone that extra mile. My Chicks presented me with a card and bunch of flowers which started off a few tears. I gave an emotional briefing of Mummy Lam's journey in hospital, her passing and sending off. The Chicks helped me to keep up my strength on a daily basis. They are here for me as much as I'm here for them ❤️

We were honoured to have former Mayors of Stockport Councillor Graham Greenhalgh and Wendy Meikle join us and the Chicks presented Graham with a cheque for £1750 raised for his charities
which Chicks have supported.

Highly recommend Rainbow88. We visited last night and loved it. Shireen and Charlotte served us....they were fab. When we arrived the first thing they asked about was allergies, which was very important for us. My partner has quite alot of allergies and Shireen was very helpful when it came to meal choices. Great choice of food, including the gluten free menu. Food was served quickly and arrived hot. Drinks were great too. We will definitely be returning for both restaurant and takeaway. Thank you for looking after us and catering for the allergies.

Hello my friends. I've received lots of messages from lovely friends and customers seeing if I'm back so posting here for all to see in one. I even put some lippy on so I didn't look too haggard☺️ I arrived yesterday after a direct Cathay Pacific flight which was nice and smooth and highly recommend and managed to bring back a few memories with me. They kindly let my hand luggage go through too so travelled lightly. There's more to bring back next time as I am having some of Mummy Lam's clothes altered to wear so she will always be with me ❤️

I was quite emotional yesterday but I'm sure in time it will get easier. Our very good customer become friend Ian Kelsall is celebrating his 60th tonight at Rainbow88 so something to look forward to. Ian was very good when mum was here a couple of years ago and drove us to Scotland and Birmingham. Magic Dave also drove us to Scotland. She loved his tricks. She loved all at Rainbow88 and often spoke about the people she met and especially loved the Mayors chains😊 Everything reminds me of Mummy Lam even just sitting in Rainbow88 last night drinking Shandy and tucking into her favorite curry😋

All the calls, messages, comments really have helped me to grieve and to come back to so many lovely cards makes me realise that Rainbow88 isn't just your local Chinese. It's more than words can express ❤️

Mummy Lam will be watching over us now and a smile comes to my face when she used to sit in the restaurant telling me what to do and ordering me about. She was part of the brains originally when we opened in 1999 when I was in a very difficult place and she was so proud that we have made 25 years, thanks to you all🙏

The last few weeks I have spent with mum will be in my memories forever and I truly appreciate that I could spend this precious time with her til the end knowing that Rainbow88 will still be as I left it with nothing to worry about ❤️

My business partner Steve, Team Rainbow and friends who have helped to keep the events going have been magnificent whilst I was away over the 3 months. Thanks to you all 🙏

This year I haven't managed to do my annual charity birthday bash but I'm sure once I'm settled I will will sort one in memory of Mummy Lam. I will go to London tomorrow for my birthday on Monday and will be back next weekend to graft again. So will hopefully see you soon.
