In honour of the England 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿game tonight we have our own Euro culinary tour going on for dinner with this Antipasto plate, otherwise known fondly as a picky tea! Can't beat it! A firm favourite in our family.

BBQ RULES

We are about to enter the BBQ season. Therefore it is important to refresh your memory on the etiquette of this sublime outdoor cooking activity. When a man volunteers to do the BBQ the following chain of events is put into motion:

(1) The woman buys the food.

(2) The woman makes the salad, prepares the vegetables, and makes dessert.

(3) The woman prepares the meat for cooking, places it on a tray along with the necessary cooking utensils and sauces, and takes it to the man who is lounging beside the grill - beer in hand.

(4) The woman remains outside the compulsory three-meter exclusion zone where the exuberance of testosterone and other manly bonding activities can take place without the interference of the woman.

Here comes the important part:

(5) THE MAN PLACES THE MEAT ON THE GRILL.

(6) The woman goes inside to organize the plates and cutlery.

(7) The woman comes out to tell the man that the meat is looking great. He thanks her and asks if she will bring another beer while he flips the meat

Important again:

(😎 THE MAN TAKES THE MEAT OFF THE GRILL AND HANDS IT TO THE WOMAN.

(9) The woman prepares the plates, salad, bread, utensils, napkins, sauces, and brings them to the table.

(10) After eating, the woman clears the table and does the dishes

And most important of all:

(11) Everyone PRAISES the MAN and THANKS HIM for his cooking efforts.

(12) The man asks the woman how she enjoyed ' her night off ', and, upon seeing her annoyed reaction, concludes that there's just no pleasing some women

Kitchens used to be merely a workspace, often an afterthought - but not any more, and NEVER at Appleton. Yes, kitchens must be optimised for food prep, cooking and storage - but the kitchen is the heart and hub of a home. We've all seen the plaques. 'This Kitchen is for Dancing'.

Our client wanted to upgrade her kitchen space; to create a practical, functional, and also BEAUTFUL space that the whole family would love.

The original kitchen was dark, overcrowded and cluttered. There was limited storage space and the dog’s sleeping area took up a massive space. The dining room was separate so there was no social aspect to cooking.

We opened up the kitchen and dining room by removing an internal wall, and added a patio door to bring in more natural light.

Wall-to-wall storage takes care of clutter while brand-new integrated appliances continue the seamless, sleek aesthetic. A functional breakfast bar is a winner with the kids. The whole space is reinvented and the family can now spend more time together, while dinner parties are now every bit as social as they should be.

This development in Didsbury Road, Heaton Mersey is a commercial project of four homes that have been completely transformed by a London based property developer.

The kitchen redesigns were part of a whole-house makeover. The client wanted to bring all four of the traditional cottages bang up to date by incorporating a sleek, industrial-looking kitchen space that contained all of the conveniences you’d expect to see in a modern dwelling.

The kitchens were particularly ‘bijou’, which can pose a challenge. We had to be particularly creative in order to accommodate all of the necessary integrated appliances and features.

We feel that the results speak for themselves – and the clients are delighted with the quality of workmanship and level of service received.
