Knowing your fire ratings is essential when specifying fire doors within apartment buildings.
Fire doors are tested and rated under 30-minute intervals (30, 60, 90 or 120 minutes).
This means they have been tested to prevent fire for the specified time.
Different areas of your building will require different fire ratings.
For example, the main routes of escape will need a higher fire rating (e.g. 60 minutes or 120 minutes).
However, a toilet or bathroom may only need a 30-minute door, if any fire rating at all.
So how do you know which fire doors to specify? Find out and discover other specification considerations in our latest blog:

A Change In Fire Door Regulations (Fire Safety Regulations 2022) Fire safety regulations are finally being updated. But what do these new regulations mean for building owners, landlords and other responsible parties?
As a specifier or contractor, are you aware of the dangers of fire certification from unqualified manufacturers?
Clients are more anxious than ever about the specification of fire-certified doorsets because of loopholes that allow unqualified manufacturers to sell ‘certified’ doorset products that fail to meet the required standards.
There are two main ways for manufacturers to offer fire certification:
Primary Test Evidence and Global Assessments.

Are you worried about the cost of replacing fire doors?
With new fire regulations, many facilities managers and property managers are being told they need to replace hundreds of fire doors.

RW Maintain are certified to inspect, repair or replace your fire doors. All carried out by their in-house team from their ‘state of the art’ joinery facility.
