Football Development Officer / Coach

Full Job Description:

Overview UK Sports Coaching Ltd are seeking a Football Development Officer to support in the management and delivery of day-to-day football development activities including coaching and programme growth.

The post holder will be expected to develop and manage relationships with players, parents, staff and community partners with the aim being to support the growth and development of all academy and community programmes. Programme development will include a range of, academy, school programmes, leagues & tournaments, coaching clinics, development and advanced training, holiday courses, as well as a range of social inclusion-based programmes

Position Specification

Delivery of various coaching programmes to a range of abilities, ages and genders based at the club and also throughout the community
Managing the promotion and distribution of all collateral for activities will be a core responsibility. All information will be produced in conjunction with senior staff
Developing positive but professional relationships with parents, players, coaches and teachers is imperative. All staff will be guided to manage communication appropriately.
As required the football development officer will assist other staff with wider community engagement projects researching new opportunities as appropriate.
The Football Development officer will conduct a range of coaching duties that will include leading daily schools coaching, player development sessions in the evening and a range of Saturday and Sunday recreation and league development programmes
Annually there will be strategic development objectives and targets set. These objectives will be divided into monthly, quarterly targets and monitored by the Academy Manager Business Skills & Experience
Experience of working in football development or sports development role is essential
Experience of managing and developing working relationship to a positive outcome
Experience of managing and leading a team of coaches or staff
Experience of managing relationships with players and staff whilst delivering a football development programme from a syllabus
Experience of event management and problem solving in a pressured environment
Experience of managing finances in-line with a set budget would be advantageous
· Lead coach for our academy, soccer school, one2one and position specific coaching sessions

· Promote via social media platforms

· Update registers on a weekly basis - add new customers + contact details, monitor payments,

· Equipment – log and monitoring process.

· Arrange group zoom meetings to discuss ideas and plans you want the staff to follow - one a month is the minimum required.

· Arrange staffing for each session

· Plan for each session, where coaches must set up and who is going to be with each group, player.

Effective verbal and written communication skills are essential. This should include an ability to speak publicly and present to large groups of players and parents
Computer literate and able to develop clear reports and football programmes / events
Self-motivated to work to deadlines as well as remain calm under pressure
Good organisation skills, with an ability to maximize personal/team performance
Exceptional interpersonal skills to manage and influence towards a positive outcome Person Specification
Hold a minimum FA Level 2
To be in possession of all relevant FA Emergency Aid & Child Safeguarding certificates
Have experience of working with elite level players (desirable)
Significant experience of working with children
The ability to work autonomously as well as part of a team
Committed to continuous professional development and seek opportunities to improve
Be a role model to all players and deliver on the club’s values both on & off the pitch
Always promote and deliver best practice

Soccer School: Delivered by FA qualified coaches, these are technically based sessions for players U4 - U11. Keeping things fun, challenging and effective!
