This week sees the first in the series of races organised by Bramhall Runners to raise money/get donations for Stockport foodbank. There are still places available for race 1 but entries close at midnight tomorrow so you need to be quick if you want to take part https://bramhallrunners.niftyentries.com/Bramhall-Runners-5-5km-2024-Race-1
Our list of urgently needed items is growing.
If you are able to support us, we’d really appreciate donations of the items listed below. Donations can be dropped to our warehouse at Hazel Grove Baptist Church, Monday to Friday 9am-12noon, left in collection baskets at supermarkets across the town or left at our Foodbank centres during opening times.
Our friends at Together organised a food drive for us at Sainsbury's Cheadle recently and collected just over £2,000 worth of food and toiletries! We were very grateful to Sainsbury's for arranging a delivery to our warehouse of the donations. 💚
Our centres, office and warehouse will be closed on Bank Holiday Monday (27 May 2024).
Stockport based Laser Quantum, A Novanta Company has been a brilliant supporter - staff members have taken part in loads of volunteering days at our warehouse and they have donated lots of food and finance in the last couple of years.
This weekend nearly 20 staff members have set themselves a big challenge to run the Great Manchester Run 10k to raise funds for us! If you would like to support them, you can sponsor them at the link below

Thanks so much to all of our volunteers who gave up their time this weekend to greet customers and collect donations at our food bank collection at Asda
Thanks also to the staff and customers who donated - we are really grateful for your generosity 💚

Just a quick reminder that our Reddish centre is currently operating from St Elisabeth's Church, SK5 6DX and not our usual location at the Bairstow Centre.
We will be collecting in the Asda store in Stockport
Do you shop at Asda? Your local food bank needs your help this weekend! 🛒
From Friday 17 to Sunday 19 May, many Asda stores are hosting a food drive.
If you can, please pick up a few extra items to donate and support people facing hardship in your community.
There’ll be volunteers at lots of stores – and they’ll be able to let you know what items your local food bank needs most.
Thank you. 💚
Thanks so much to the staff and customers at Spar Hazel Grove for your generous donations 💚
We are getting lots of telephone enquiries about how to get a foodbank voucher to use our service.
Vouchers are issued by lots of different organisations from housing associations to schools and Stockport Libraries. Full details on how to get a voucher are in the link below.

Next Monday, 6 May, is a Bank Holiday so our centres, phone line and warehouse will be closed on that day.
We also have changes to two centres tomorrow, Thursday 2 May - our Reddish centre will operate from St Elisabeth's Church, Reddish, SK5 6BL and our Offerton centre will operate from a slightly different location within St Philip's due to the local elections.
We have updated our list of urgently needed items. We currently have no cat food whatsoever in the warehouse! Donations can be left in supermarket collection baskets across the town, dropped to our warehouse in Hazel Grove Monday to Friday between 9am and 12 noon or at our centres during Foodbank sessions.
‼️ A couple of changes to be aware of.
Our Offerton centre will be using a slightly different area at St Philips on Thursday due to the local elections on Thursday 2 May. This also means they will be unable to serve refreshments on that day.
Our Reddish centre will be moving location for a few weeks. It will be at St Elisabeth's Church, Leamington Road, Reddish, SK5 6DJ from Thursday until Thursday 23rd May instead of its usual location at the Bairstow Centre.
We would really appreciate your help to restock our warehouse after a busy few weeks. The items we are currently short of are listed below. These can be donated at collection points in supermarkets across Stockport or at our warehouse at Hazel Grove Baptist Church SK7 4EX Monday to Friday from 9am until 12noon 💚
Over 20 staff members from Laser Quantum, A Novanta Company will take on Great Manchester Run next month to raise money for Stockport foodbank! You can sponsor them at the link below.

The Waitrose & Partners store recently took part in a food collection week to increase donations to Stockport foodbank and we were delighted with the large number of donations that we received during the week from customers and staff at the store - thanks for the support 💚
We are so grateful to everyone who has supported us this Easter with donations of Easter treats.
Thanks to Turn The Page Counselling Ltd who beat last year's donation by donating 123 Easter eggs, Stockport based who donated a trailer of eggs to our centre at Tiviot Dale and Jobwise who delivered a large number of eggs to our warehouse in Hazel Grove.
Thanks to the generosity of our supporters we have been able to provide an Easter treat to everyone who needs our support.
A reminder that our centres, offices and warehouse will be closed on Good Friday (29 March) and Easter Monday (1 April). Our Reddish centre will be open as usual on Saturday 30 March and our opening hours across all centres will return to normal on Tuesday 2 April.
‼️ Due to an Easter service at the church, our session at St Philip's Church in Offerton tomorrow (Thursday 28 March) will take place at 12noon - 2pm instead of the usual time of 11am-1pm. Please share to help spread the word. ‼️
Our stock levels are quite low on several items but in particular we are very short of long life orange juice and tinned fruit and we are struggling to buy these two items in bulk. If you are able to donate these items in our supermarket collection baskets across Stockport or at our warehouse at Hazel Grove Baptist Church, we would really appreciate it.

We are welcoming donations of Easter treats at our warehouse in Hazel Grove (Hazel Grove Baptist Church, SK7 4EX) open from 9am until 12noon each day.
Easter eggs are a small treat that can bring a lot of joy. But for people on the lowest incomes, they’re an expense they often can’t afford.
So if you can, please consider donating Easter Eggs to your local food bank over the next few weeks.
It’s an egg-cellent way you can support your community this spring. 🐣💚

It was lovely to welcome Danny and Jo from George & Dragon in Cheadle who have been collecting donations for us. They are going to set up a drop off point in the pub for anyone who wants to donate. We are so grateful to them and their customers for their support.

A massive thank you to Laser Quantum, A Novanta Company for their continued support sorting stock in our warehouse, Integrum Automation for doing a fab collection in their office and the Lions Club - Romiley and Marple CIO who donated Easter Eggs at our centre in Bredbury.
