Check out all the free stuff on offer from workshops on Little Underbanks, a talk about the iconic Winters Clock in Bistro Marc at Winter's, a music exhibition in Syndikat, DJs at SK1 Records, live music outside from Blank Cheque, Stockport Heritage Trust Group are displaying photographs from their archive and to finish the day in a brilliant way, a free screening of the iconic A Taste of Honey in Stockport Parish Church - St Mary's.

All this activity brought to you by the Rediscovering The Underbanks Team from Stockport Council in collaboration with National Lottery Heritage Fund.

🚨 OPENING THIS FRIDAY! 🚨

Following photographer Heidi Alexander's exhibition at local restaurant Where The Light Gets In , which wonderfully showcased Heidi's evocative images of Stockport Market from 1976-1977, they now have a pitch in a brand new exhibition at Stockport Museum!

Thanks to the generosity of Heidi Alexander who donated a set of prints to Stockport Museums, punters will see Stockport Market as it once was, and reminisce about times gone by with objects from Stockport's Museum collection.

Councillor Grace Baynham, Cabinet Member for Highways, Parks and Leisure Services at Stockport Council said:
“The Stockport Collection is an exhibition full of hidden gems which documents the rich history of our town centre. With the town centre currently undergoing a period of so much change, it’s fantastic to be able to look back to a snapshot of history captured so brilliantly by Heidi Alexander. A must-see for all residents, to get a sense of the atmosphere of Stockport town centre in the late 1970s.”

Opens at Stockport Museum, 30/31 Market Place, Stockport, SK1 1ES, on Friday 22nd July. Entry is Free!
Opening times: Tuesdays to Saturdays from 10am – 5pm, and Sundays from 11am – 4pm.
