Cal has already played for the Hoppers... his first match last season and his most recent match for us was against DK Wasps two weeks ago.

He's a great lad with a lot of talent and will be a Hopper for life now.

Stourbridge Grasshoppers are away this Saturday against Warley 2's.

Kick off time is 2.15pm.

The team were unable to complete the double over local rivals DK Wasps last time out with the final score of 12 - 41, so will be looking to get back to winning ways on Saturday against Warley.

If you can get yourself over to Warley the team would love to see some travelling support to cheer them on.

A tough day with a lot of regulars missing... notably Dane David Hughes who has become a father for the second time this weekend.

Howevr, there were some positives to take away though with a good debut for Niall Lones and very welcome returns to the team for Perksy, Noony and Big Stef.

The team won 26 - 22 last week against Camp Hill 3's and they are proudly sat at the top of the table in the North Midlands Merit league.

The is their second match in the newly RFU formed North Midlands Merit (North) League.

Kick off time is 2.15pm.

The team won the reverse fixture 34-17 last time out so they would love to see some home support for this fixture of this newly created league. So if you are able to make your way down to Stourton Park on Saturday this would be much appreciated.

Meet at the club at 3pm for touch rugby in usual kit.

Enhanced touch rugby 3pm until 5pm.

Please bring a consumable: some mulled wine, Port, cheese, mince pie etc.

5pm showers then drinks in the bar upstairs. Dress code - elves.

Afterwards, pub crawl towards Stourbridge.

After that, probably some ill advised trip somewhere that concludes with a 3am McDonald's and a Christmas Eve full of regret.

We played against Woz so many times for DK. It would be good to support his family at this difficult time.

Today we took part in a three-way tournament at Chaddesley RFC with our friends from Redditch Rugby Club

Players played for different clubs to ensure we all got matches. Chaddesley won overall but... and I'm aware it's a cliche... it was definitely a day when rugby was the winner.

Massive condolences to all of Warren's friends and family. He was always a fierce competitor on the pitch and a good man off it.

Wednesbury Rugby Club are saddened to announce the loss of one of our players Warren Pettet , we would like to thank Warren for being part of the Wednesbury family both social and playing side, he will be sadly missed by us all here at the club.
