๐ U9's Softball Finals Day ๐
With 7 teams today Studley sat out the first game which gave us the opportunity to get warmed up in the nets.
Whilst warming up we went on a quick scouting mission as we only had 7 players.
A young lad was playing with his dad in the nets next to us as his older sister was playing for Wellesbourne Girls agreed to join Studley for the morning ๐ซถ๐ผ
Stan captained the first match and, after several rounds of rock, paper, scissors (we've never seen 2 people pick the same so many times ๐) Studley lost the toss and the opposition chose to bowl.
We faced a very strong Wellesbourne team and, despite the regular loss of wickets, we kept running and Stan managed some huge hitting in the final pairing to give us a respectable total.
It was then our turn to field and everyone bowled well. There was a fantastic attempt at a high catch from Harrison, only for the wet ground to give way underneath him.
The opposition batted strongly and came out on top.
We then went into the second game against Bedworth Cricket Club, with Isabelle as captain. She mixed up the pairings and it worked wonders.
We took regular wickets with our bowling,
Then we went in to bat and Frankie set the tone, smashing a couple of fours. Maddison had a superb over, knocking the sixes. There was also great running between the wickets, most notably Stan and Zack running four for the overthrows from the opposition. We came away victorious and it was thoroughly deserved.
Every single player said they enjoyed today & had a smile on their face, but, beyond that, it was amazing to see them welcome Benji into the team.
Thank you to the parents who came along and supported today.
Thank you for being fantastic hosts

WHAT.A.GAME !
Little old Studley U13โs headed to Dorridge for a semi final clash. The players were nervous but soon channelled it into their batting.
Kyle set the tone early on by smashing a boundary off the opener. Runs were always going to be hard to come by but with some good defense and our best running of the season we ticked along nicely.
Final pairing Captain Alfie and Super Keeper Harry finished our innings off in style, both hitting boundaries and scoring lots of 1โs and 2โs.
Setting Dorridge a target of only 235 we knew we had to be on our โAโ game in the field.
And wasnโt we just!!!
Quite possibly the best bowling & fielding performance of the season. Every bowler who came on bowled tight, looked sharp and soon those bails were flying to Wales!!
A steady flow of dismissals kept us in it. With Dorridge 2 ahead going into the last over and flicking a boundary away, heads could have dropped but the true Studley spirit shone through. Never have you heard a team spirit so high all game.
Needing 2 wickets off the final 2 balls the voices came strong, Super Alfie came flying in and clean bowled the batter first up!!
Could the dream be possible?
In came the field, in came Alfie charging inโฆ delivering the perfect straight ballโฆ. Blocked out by the batter! Massive well done to him under immense pressure.
We missed out by just 4 runs, but what a game and what an effort by the mighty Studs.
The future is bright for this newly formed team ๐๐
A massive thanks to our hosts Dorridge Cricket Club, to coach Gaz for leading the team, to every parent and sibling and tonightโs extra supporters who travelled over to cheer us on.
Roll on winter training and roll on next summer, with this team spirit, the skyโs the limits ๐ซถ๐ป

๐ U10's Wonderball Semi Finalists ๐
A bit of Monday Motivation...
This team have worked so hard together this season. Week in week out they turned up to training and impressed with their eagerness to learn and improve.
From the opening game where over half the team hadn't played a game of cricket before, all the way to yesterday where we made it to FINALS DAY and got to host.
A mixed team of both boys AND girls (not many others had that)
Their commitment and dedication payed off and as a club we couldn't be prouder!
Thank you to all the Juniors that have played for the team this season ๐
Thank you to our wonderful parents who bring them to every training session and all the matches, especially the away ones ๐
To our coaches and volunteer helpers who have worked closely with the players, the hard work paid off.
Thank you for trusting us to host such a special day and to Andy for being present as well as taking time to talk to everyone and anyone ๐ซถ๐ผ
Our Junior future is bright โญ

The girls at Studley are doing us proud.
Today's Festival was at King's Heath and wonderful afternoon was had by all.
We played with smiles on our faces & our confidence grew as the afternoon progressed.
The club couldn't be prouder to have a small growing girls section and these festivals are the best places to introduce them to pairs cricket.
Thank you for hosting and Gabby at for organising,we can't wait for the next one.

Our final U10โs/U11โs game of the season saw us travel to the beautiful Exhall & Wixford. On a rather blowy day, captain Aaryan lost the toss and Studley were asked to bat.
A fine opening stand from Stan & Dillon saw us once again off to a strong start.
A slightly different game today with 12vs12 meant gaps were hard to find and runs more precious to get.
Credit to all our pairs who all batted solid, kept their wickets and ran the 1โs & 2โs where they could. The calling was loud and clear-even the parents commented on that.
A great team effort saw us post 283 off the 24 overs, a really good target but we knew we had to bowl tight.
Opening up down the hill came Poppy steaming in. The only girl in our team once more holding her own and looking every bit the part.
A steady flow of wickets and some tight fielding had us ahead at the half way mark.
A fine spell from joint players of the match Aaryan & Ben who both bowled a double wicket maiden really gave us the impetuous.
Exhall were never out of it though, a combination of extras and good running saw them edging closer. Another fine catch from cover specialist Ethan in the highlight of the fielding meant Exhall needed 18 off the final 4 overs.
Our final pair, Louie and Ethan bowled fantastic to limit the runs under pressure, meant 4 were needed from the final ball to tie... A fine shot straight down the ground, flying down the hill nearly got the runs needed but some fast running and a good arm from Eddie saving the day and restricting them to 3 runs meant we snook the victory by 1 !!
Cricket was however the winner today, played in fantastic spirits against a club we get on great with.
Thanks to all the parents, the players, coaches and helpers for today and the whole season, youโve been awesome to be around.

Our U9โs / U10โs mixed team travelled to Olton & for a hardball friendly on a breezy Thursday night.
Captain Ethan lost the toss and into the field we went.
A fantastic opening spell from Maddison and then some top spin from Edward got us off to a great start.
Runs were hard to stop against a really talented Olton, with everything they hit down the slope running away for 4.
Joint player of the match and youngest player Isabelle came on and took 2 fantastic wickets to get us back into it.
Runs continued to flow but the bowling remained great, super Trav & Aaryan bowling tight, the latter bowling a great delivery finding the batters edge with Super Stan flying to his right to take the catch.
A great fielding display from all on a fast outfield, especially Isabelle & Ethan who had lots of work to do.
With plenty to get we set about the chase with a great opening stand from Trav & Aaryan. Some fantastic running and well placed shots saw the pair continue their form together.
Our middle order of U9โs coming up against some great fast bowlers all showed really great grit and determination. All of them taking a blow but bouncing back to score runs and run those extras hard. Great experience for them all in tough conditions.
Super Cooper showed bravery and nerve to find some form from earlier in the season and should be proud he stuck at it.
The final pair with not much hope of chasing the massive total came in and smashed it from ball one. Joint player of the match, Stan the man scoring an incredible 40 on his own with 2 sixes and countless 4โs including the most exquisite cover driver ever seen. His running with the other joint player of the match Ethan who equally struck boundaries and stole runs was a joy to watch. A master class in running from this pair that will set the standards going forward.
A really enjoyable evening, thanks to Olton for hosting.
Thanks to all our parents for attending and cheering everyone on and to coach Simon and coach Gaz for leading the team.

๐ U10's WB Friendly Bidford ๐
Sundays are for sport and the weather today was perfect for a match at Bidford upon Avon CC
Captain Harrison won the toss and elected to field first. He set the pairs and order and off we went.
Unusually for us we got no wickets, but our bowling was still great with several players getting maidens.
Today batting was our speciality with lots of 4's and 6's scored and what was clear to hear was the calling between the pairs; it was clear so they all ran well.
Congratulations to Bidford who got the only wicket of the match with a lovely bowl and catch right at the end of the final pair.
Well done to Stan who is our Player of the Match for his excellent boundary stop.
A club we love to play as the spirit of the players is spot on ๐๐ thank you for having us.

If anyone remembers last years bowlathon. We raised just over ยฃ5k. Incredible it was! A split between juniors, the club and dementia UK in support of club legend Ron Harris.
This year we need to move fast. If we donโt host and support a fundraiser, you literally may not have a club next season. (Dramatic pauseโฆโฆ.)
End of cricket season is approaching and that means less funds and less footfall through the door.
So on that note let us introduce you to this years โWalkathonโ ๐
From Studley CC to Edgbaston and onto Lords! It seemed a little easy so we decided, letโs walk back again!
A whole 258 miles to be split between everyone who signs up.
The beauty is, we arenโt going anywhere. We will achieve our goal by walking 1032 laps of the outfield at our very own Studley.
Sunday 15th September starting at 10am and finishing when we get it done.
It will be a family day, with a club bbq, bouncy castle, facepaints and music.
Bring your families, kids, anyone!
The more involved the less you walk.
Please sponsor and please get your families and friends to sponsor you.
ยฃ3k is the targetโฆ letโs do this!

Juniors day out to watch at ๐งก๐งก๐งก๐งก
Festival Season is well and truly upon us ๐๐ and we at Studley LOVE a good festival.
Tonight we travelled to the beautiful ground of Stratford Upon Avon!
The sun was shining, the tunes were banging (Coach Rosie loves a little dance) and the cricket was top notch.
Match 1 we faced the home team, Stratford B, losing the toss we were asked to bowl first. Our fielding was spot on and we managed to limit the runs, plus a few wickets helped too.
We still needed to bat well and that we did with several boundaries including a lovely 4 from youngest member Rowan and an incredible 6 from Isabelle!
Match 2 was against Bidford, a team we have spoken to regularly but not met so it was lovely to finally put a face to the name ๐ซถ๐ผ
Again we lost the toss but this time we were put in to bat... But the boundaries came nicely for Ed and Dillon and not too many wickets fell that we went in to the field knowing we needed to limit the runs.
And that we did, some lovely bowling saw Bobby & Zach get wickets.
Final match saw us face the lovely Moseley Ashfield. We won the toss and chose to bowl first.
Shout out to both Frankie and Maddison who were superb at stopping the boundaries by getting their bodies in the way...
A good score was achieved but not unbeatable... We went in to bat and found a decent rhythm, but some great bowling saw us lose a couple of wickets.
With the light fading and the rain coming down our final pair went in and did their best... With 12 needed from 2 balls, Dillon smashed a 6, but then we could only manage a single, to lose by 5 runs.
A great night was had by all.
Thank you parents for travelling, including the Roberts family who came to support even tho Ethan wasn't playing!
As always Simon did a wonderful job at scoring and Rosie had fun umpiring and helping the children on the pitch.
