11am Friday 31st May 2024. Road closure signs in place in the area due to emergency gas works on the cavendish/clare road. However, the road is not currently closed. Road open as normal during the works.

Oh my, the chocolate and raspberry marquise was delicious. Hopefully Fiona didn't eat all of it! Raspberries now in season and delivered fresh from a local farm.

A recent gluten free lunch special of pan roasted chicken breast, spinach & potato aligot, wild mushrooms & home grown asparagus. Served with a mushroom & thyme jus

Ellen delivering more fish and chips! Fish delivered fresh daily and chips as always, cut by hand. Won't be long until we are frying new potatoes too.

We already have a few bookings for Father's Day, however there's still time. 3 and a half weeks soon fly though so don't put your booking off to the last minute.

Slow roasted pork belly with mashed potato, braised red cabbage, honey roasted carrots & a rich pork cider cream sauce

Our current burger special is a delicious feast. Homemade British chuck steak beef burger with potato rosti, applewood cheddar, baby gem & tomato. But really makes it is our homemade smoked Suffolk bacon jam. Served with chips & homemade pickled onion rings.

For those that like strawberries…..

Cheesecake made with fresh Essex strawberries (available in the farm shop of course). This cheesecake is marbled with a fresh strawberry & rhubarb jell, made using Suffolk Distillery strawberry & rhubarb gin. Topped with it too! Then finished with strawberry coulis and fresh strawberries. Did I mention it was a strawberry cheesecake?

The cafe is open 9am to 5pm. Rarely after 10pm. We would prefer it if you didn’t enjoy a takeaway kebab, using our patio furniture. You had quite the walk to Mr Kebab in cavendish then presumably back to Glemsford on foot, judging by the direction of travel. Please take your rubbish back with you next time or use the bins provided 🙂

The A1092 Lower Road will be closed Sunday 28th April 2024 for most of the day. It is closed between the cafe and Cavendish. For those visiting us from Cavendish direction, you will need to divert via Pentlow and Foxearth or Waterlane Cavendish and onto Glemsford.
