Sooooo

We did a thing yesterday, we took delivery of our very first Arctic load of compost. After a few hickups we were unloaded late into the night. Unfortunately the drivers forklift broke down right at the end after the last pallet was in the shop.

If you are a gardener on our site, please be aware that the driver has had to park within the gates until a mechanic comes to fix the forklift. Please be aware that access to the sites car park is restricted until he's been able to move.

Delivery time

We will no longer be stocking premium paraffin, it's just far too expensive to buy. However, after speaking to a few other allotment shops and after trying it our selves we have purchased 1000L of Premium Heating Oil (blue flame kerosene).

£6.50 per gallon.

Cold snap coming, get protected.

As promised we have an update.

We have got the potatoes, onions and garlic 🙌🙌

As mentioned previously, we had been warned of a potential shortage. We expected a shortage but not to the amount we have. Out of 100 sacks ordered only 57 have turned up. Out of that there is only 2 varieties of first earlies and 2 varieties of 2nd earlies. Main crop has a good selection but some favourites have not came in.

We cannot keep any potatoes for anyone. It's strictly on a first come first served basis.

We are priced at £1.50 per KG and unfortunately we cannot offer any bulk purchase discount.

As for onions and garlic, we have a brilliant selection came in and there is plenty to be had.

Garlic 90p per bulb
Onions/Shallots £1.50 per bag

Once again we can only apologise for the delay and the lack of variety compared to previous years. We have already begun looking for additional suppliers for next year to ensure we have what we want, when we want.

See you all at 9am sharp 👍🙌

** Onion & Potato update**

We've had word that our supplier is likely to get the delivery on Friday. Should they get the delivery on Friday morning, we will do everything we can to get as much of our order in the shop and on sale come Saturday.

Once we have a concrete message that it's in and on its way we will inform you at the earliest chance.

We can only apologise on behalf of our supplier, the bad weather last summer and border checks have played havoc with UK grown potatoes and onion set imports. But there does at last seem to be some movement.

Thanks for your patience and please keep an eye out for a further update on Friday.

There is still no sign of the elusive potatoes and onions as yet.

We are chasing up our supplier tomorrow to find out when we can expect them.

We can only apologise to everyone for the delay!🙏

**Seed potato,onion and garlic update**

To save anymore phone calls, messages or questions in the shop here's a little update.

As yet we still haven't got our seed potatoes etc in yet. They are due the beginning of February (we sometimes do get them earlier but it all depends on the wholesaler). It's still very early and there is plenty of time until you all start planting out.

Once we know when they are coming through our doors, you will be the first to know via Facebook. We are getting over 100 sacks of potatoes and nearly 300kg of onions. There is plenty to go around. Until we get confirmation of what varieties are coming in, we can't publish a price per kg just yet (some varieties cost upto 35% more than others) we always try and average out the cost to make it easier when it comes to totalling up at the till.

We are sorry that we can't give anymore information but rest assured we will let you all know as soon as we know anything.

Here's to a successful growing season!

W**D KILLER UPDATE

We probably get asked a dozen times every weekend if we are getting any of our 5L w**d killers back in stock. The short answer is no, we can't source the stock at the value we once did.

What we have done though is purchased 20L of Gallup XL w**d killer. We will be selling the w**d killer in 100ml doses which is enough to produce 4L of w**dkiller. These are to be priced at £2.50 each.

This is the strongest w**d killer we've sold, it's also amongst the best.

We hope by buying in bulk and splitting as we do with every other item sold in the shop we can make it more accessible to more people rather than only a handful of people being able to get it and leaving alot of others disappointed.

It will be in the shop from Sunday the 5th.
