We are delighted to be exhibiting this November at the Crypt Gallery in Norwich! Come and visit the show and enjoy this range of selected works on sale from ten of our members - some of Norfolk's leading designer-makers. Indulge in calm seasonal shopping and find creative inspiration.

Formed in 1972, Norfolk Contemporary Craft Society celebrated their Golden Anniversary in 2022 by instigating the Emerging Makers Award.

This initiative continues to promote one of the original aims of the Society: to showcase existing and new talented makers from Norfolk.

The award gave for a year: membership of the NCCS, the benefits of an experienced Society member as mentor and the opportunity to exhibit with the Society.

Some of these makers have now become full members of the Society and will exhibit with their mentors, as well as our most recent selected members.

Put these dates firmly in your diaries – Tuesday 7th November to Saturday 18th November. Open daily 10am – 4.30pm at The Crypt Gallery, Norwich School, The Close, NR1 4DD

First Exhibition this year will be a Taster Exhibition for North Norfolk Studios May 14 to June 4. - with studios open May 27 to June 4.

This man couldn’t speak until he was 11. He couldn’t read or write until he was 18. He was told his autism and learning delays would hold him back. But, he believed in himself. He worked hard and studied day and night. He even wrote on his bedroom wall; "One day I will work at Oxford or Cambridge." Now, against all odds, he’s achieved his ultimate dream and has just become the youngest-ever black professor at Cambridge University - one of the top universities in the whole world. His name is Jason Arday and he’s an absolute inspiration 🙌❤️

To be in this moment, in this place, completely. To allow action and awareness to meld together and give physical form to thought and movement. Long before there was a word for it, this is the way that we practiced our craft. This is how I wish to live my life.

This "State of Flow" only entered the language in the mid seventies. Since then the world has become busier, more hectic, and the technology more invasive, and there is less and less space in our lives.

It's OK to just switch off and take some time to simply be...

The exhibition is on Til 4 today and finishes at midday tomorrow so you still have time to go along and see all the wonderful work created by our members. There’s lots for sale and lots to see.
